The brown mage has joined the shadows. I hope everything else is clear. Should I proceed to magic?

sorry to chime in here gents, been following your game quite interesting... I'm going to have to try this.
It was my understanding the green/white white lions had the standard of balance... this also negates hatred so would they not get their rerolls?

I doesn't matter, Black guard have rule warrior elite, which allows them to always re-roll their failed rolls to hit

Ah that makes sense, thank youFEANOR wrote:I doesn't matter, Black guard have rule warrior elite, which allows them to always re-roll their failed rolls to hit
I guess there is a reason for that rule on them then, I was confused as they had eternal hatred.
This system is such a great idea... I've learned tons of things I wouldn't have otherwise known... I'm going to have to direct a few newer players in my club here to read some of these... really speed up the learning curve I think.
Again sorry to interrupt gents, carry on

Re: WFO: Beithir Seun (Dark Elves) vs. Forgottenlor (High Elves)
Yes, I had to check it as well. The Warrior Elite rule says nothing about being related to Hatred. It's still an important distinction though, and not entirely pointless, as the Hatred means they always have to pursue and overrun against High Elves (which can be a double-edged sword) but the Standard of Balance actually takes that away without having any effect on their attacks Quite useful sometimes

Anyway, I will throw both dice at Beast Cowers in the vain hope of achieving a miracle

Re: WFO: Beithir Seun (Dark Elves) vs. Forgottenlor (High Elves)
One question on the bolt thrower crew. Why does the master wound on 3+, doesn't he have a normal repeaterxbow?
Everything else would die(As well as the crew member if the missle is indeed strength 4).
I think I strike first in close combat. Correct?

The Hydra is still cowered.
which means your BSB kills 3. And my BSB needs a 3+ save:
Ok, he's down to 1 wound.
Its safe to say you've won the combat. I'll need a rerollable stubborn test:
I have a BSB and a banner, but so do you. You inflicted 1 more wound than I did, have numbers and 3 ranks, so I see you winning by 4, meaning the BSB needs a 5 to hold. Correct?

Re: WFO: Beithir Seun (Dark Elves) vs. Forgottenlor (High Elves)
No, I'm afraid the Hydra is not still cowered. You cast Beast Cowers in your last magic phase, and the spell clearly states that it only lasts for the combat phase of the turn in which it was cast.
That means that the Hydra's three wounds will go through, so I caused 7 wounds, have a flank attack, banner, three ranks, outnumber and BSB against your 3 wounds, banner and BSB.
(Even without the Hydra's wounds, I would still win by 6 - 1 extra wound, flank attack, outnumber, 3 ranks - so the BSB needs 3 or less to hold anyway)

Re: WFO: Beithir Seun (Dark Elves) vs. Forgottenlor (High Elves)
I stand corrected. I had never considered that the movement restrictions are for an entire turn and the close combat restrictions only on the casters turn, but that is the wording. Ok the BSB flees then.
Not that it should matter. He flees through your warriors and is destroyed. This game is clearly yours. I'd be happy to play on as my high elves will fight to the last man, and kill as many of their nasty kin as they can, but if you'd prefer I'll hand in my surrender as I've been clearly been outplayed and my high elves can't hope for anything more than an honorable death.Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

Re: WFO: Beithir Seun (Dark Elves) vs. Forgottenlor (High Elves)
I'm happy to carry on if you are. It's never pleasant to see your army massacred, so I will leave the decision up to you.
For the record, I don't think you've been outplayed at all. I've had a lot of above-average shooting, and that has taken it's toll on your units and left them much reduced for when my combat units hit home.
