My wood elves (Updated Pics)

Post by Greven »

Painted my first two Glade Guard/Scouts today. The pictures aren't great...

I have tried to make my own autumn theme. Going to try it on some dryads now. So what do you think?

Here is the new image, the quality isn't any better unfortunately.

A nice Color Scheme - and the pics aren't that bad.
You just need more lights to brighten it a bit ... :)

Do you reallly want to use the same Scheme on dryads ?
I think this would make your Army too one-sided as a whole ...
I'd go for Variations here ...

Cheers !

They're actually pretty good. Maybe you should get rid of red, try orange instead. Green is good, I like the contrast.

Ya.... if those are bid pics... then those are very nice models indeed.

I like the black bows... it works with the color scheme.
The red areas around thier waist could use a bit more shading. Are you doing some black lining?..... it looks good too. Keep it up!.... ooh..and nice basing as well.!

Cheers~!

The Dryads will probably be darker, a bit like dark... trees :) But the leaves will probably be orange, red, yellow and green.

nice autumn collour theme.
Try too make the dryad differece brown then your glade guard. if you make the dryads the same brown as the scouts/glade guad then the army looks boring ;)

I like the colour of the bows, and the silver tops things off. But one thing that is hard to look at is the Red. Just dosen't fit. Perhaps highlight the red with orange :D

Very nice and original colour sheme! I wonder what the fluff behond that one is...

However, I totally dislike your bases. I would use bornw ground with green small plants and grass, its more woodlike.

i think you should add mone more variation of brown/red into the cloaks and that will tie in the brighter red more.

I like the black bows too

I've changed the bases to light brown/grey drybrush over black with some bushes. Maybe I should have green around the sides for contrast?

Tried to highlight more orange on the red, they look a little bit more orange in real life.

after looking at the new photos the green really makes the models its very well done. If the red is as bright in the photo as it is in real life then i would dull it down a touch but its a fantastic scheeme. I like :)

Thank you for your comments. I will use some different brown for different models so that I will get some variation in the regiment.

But what about green colour around the base edges? Do you think It would look better or is it fine the way things are now?

It would better if you used a brown, I usually use dark flesh, but bestial brown would proably look better on your models.

They're definatley, they need to tune down, perhaps some ink glazes would help.

You don't have to really, if you make an effort on the top of the base which is more visable than the rim your models will look fine, some of the best armies I've seen don't have painted rims.

I second Prince Cal in that I also don't paint the sides of the Bases ...

To me black is ok.
It distinguishes the Model from the Surroundings. :)

But that's just me ... ;)

Nice dryads! I have seen the archers, and they are really nice! I hadn't seen his dryads.

Hope you can paint them up fast enough so that there is some colour in the next fight!

Really nice! Much better then your old elves, and even better then your chaos dwarfs!

Greven: I reallylike the stance of the left Dryad. It characterizes himself by that someway..
