Dwarf Lord

Post by Maedhros »

I've been painting up a dwarf lord for a friend. He has yet to be based, and I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to do the eyes, but other than those he's done. The gems and ring are a deep green with a little highlight, but it's hard to tell.

Thanks for comments and criticism.

I think he looks cool.. might want to put a small ruby on the ring.

the beard and skin look great imho, the tonings fit the model very well and the beard is something different from the usual beard colour.

but the metals, they just seem a bit messy and untidy. if you'd tidy those metallic parts up a bit i'm sure it would help it alot.

just my ramblings

It's quite well painted, but the black eye and Tzeentchian steel like blue metal makes it look like a Tzeentch chaos dwarf ^_^

- and oh, please change that sloganizer theme, I got it first!

Thanks for the comments.

D: there isn't really a place to put a ruby on the ring, it's a plain metal band.

Lloyba: the metal really isn't very sloppy, but the weapon kind of is, and looks moreso because of the flash.

Kyte: I've had this theme since before you joined (last August or September). :p And the dwarf is secretly evil! He's not mine, so I don't know actually. Dwarves are suprisingly fun to paint too, I might do some more.

Is it just me or is his flesh unfinished? Possibly another highlight woudl brign out the dwarfs more.
Other than that it looks good.

Looks great, but I don't think it was the scheme Keegan wanted..

You always paint everything purple...even if it isn't a Dark Elf...lol

His only requests were that the beard was red or orange, and that the skintone was human-like.

lol The only purple on my dark elves are sea dragon cloaks anyway. Well, the cold ones and hydra will be too. They'd be very purple if it weren't the standard color scheme. I don't paint everything purple, I paint everything using cool colors. :P

Dori: the flesh is definatly finished. A basecoat + 4 highlights is enough for me, the camera blends them into the basecoat.
