Hello all -
Following the migration to Druchii, I slowly stopped visiting the forums. It was also a time of unknown for us here. A good chunk of the playerbase near us were going towards 9th age and we tried it quite a bit. Had some great games and even a small tournament. But then 1.2 came and we lost interest. So what do we do? The armies starting collecting dust for a while... but we said "hey, even if not a lot of people play 8th edition, that's what we enjoy, so let's just play it".
And with that... we're back playing.
Here's a battle report (doesn't feature Wood Elves. But soon, we will) we did recently.

Look forward to posting more bat reps soon!

Re: Back - i think!
Welcome back. It was a good read.
I actually enjoy the new direction the 9th age took with 1.2 although it was strange at first and so sudden. 1.3 corrected a lot of the mistakes that were made in the new version but all army books need more work before it's done.

It is nice to see you back in the game. On my part, I think 9th Age is just great.
Sure the last version was quite a shock to every one but when you go on their website and start reading the reasons they did this, it makes a lot of sense to me. I am not 100% happy about the changes they made but I think it is still a lot clearer then GW could make it. They acheived in 18 months or so waht GW has not been able in 30 years! They made a game where all armies are different but fairly balanced. Me and my buddies have all switched to 9Th because it feel like the game as evolved. Just has if GW had give us a new (9th) version of WHFB. Every time we had a new version of the main rules set, peoples had complaints about certain changes to this or that rule but in the end, most player stuck with the latest edition. I honnestly think that the 9Th Age just done that, for all armies, at the same time!

Thanks for the responses! It's good to be back.
We might take a look at 9th age in the future. for now, we can play 8th edition with no problem. So... why not play it if we prefer it?

Re: Back - i think!
You should definitely play the version you want. I only have two main opponents and with one I play 9th and the other only wants to play 8th with ET rules (not magic) because he want to play undead legion.
To each his own (I think that is how you say it)

Agreed, I.M.O; each to their own, as long as your opponents agree to the rules you're using. I need to get my arse in-gear and download T9A.

Good to see you back! Asrai has been quiet
We're still playing the odd game of 8th, though there is increasing pressure to give AoS another go from one of our friends. Our house purchase is going through, so hopefully come May after the building works our new gaming room will be up and running!
