petition to GW
Figured I'd share this with you lot, https://www.change.org/p/games-workshop ... miniatures
It takes 10 seconds to fill out and might help encourage them to rethink some of their practices.

Re: petition to GW
Not sure there's much point in a petition like this. For a start, GW doesn't even have a CEO right now, so no-one will be changing anything in the direction of the company until such times as that changes.

But with attitudes like that, nothing will ever change. It costs nothing to put your name on a (metaphorical) piece of paper, so whether it ends up working or not, what's the harm in trying?

Re: petition to GW
I guess it depends on your point of view. For me it's like saying "what's the harm in doing this thing that wastes your time?" Do too many of those things and you've got no time for important stuff :-)
Re: petition to GW
I agree that it's unlikely to help, but I've seen a Slan fail a coldblooded rerollable 10 and it takes about as much time as a forum post. And even though GW has no CEO they do have a board of directors and stock holders that, one assumes, provide some leadership.

Re: petition to GW
It's not that its unlikely to help as a petition, but it's a rather poorly worded one that lacks professionalism and direction. It asks too much, too clumsily, and doesn't really represent the changes that I certainly want to be made.

Re: petition to GW
If you genuinely want change, become a stockholder and petition from within. It's not like their stock is expensive.
Re: petition to GW
Well I haven't looked but 1 of those won't do much good... how expensive would a 51% majority be?godswearhats wrote:If you genuinely want change, become a stockholder and petition from within. It's not like their stock is expensive.

You don't need a 51% majority, you just need more than any one other shareholder.

petition to GW
Anyone know how many shares GW is and what the price per share is?
Just out of curiosity. I guess it wouldn't be a great investment financially since their numbers hasn't been the best recently?

Yeah I've been toying with the idea of pissing $500 down the drain and getting a very small say.

I kinda agree with both but seeing the more serious petitions below made me not sign it.Beithir Seun wrote:godswearhats wrote:Not sure there's much point in a petition like this. Re: petition to GW
Someone who plays the games would be a good start.
Re: petition to GW
I'ld say give them a well educated guy with a sales back-ground.
Someone who knows his economics, but is also used to listening to the customer.
In the end, it's THEM (read us) paying your wages...
Organize a sort of non-stop enquiry in the stores and hobby-centres where your customers can leave their "2cents" and actually try to process that info on a (monthly) basis to improve your FAQ's and errata's.

I like this 'suggestion box' idea, I think that would be an very straight forward yet effective way of them connecting with the consumers (us lot).nXken wrote:I'ld say give them a well educated guy with a sales back-ground.

Re: petition to GW
As every army has a fan site that sees modest traffic, they could easily collect FAQ on a monthly basis. All they would need as an (unpaid) intern with minimal internet skills to collect the questions and a few hours of the design teams time.

Re: petition to GW
Not even that...
Just ask people like GwH to mail the problems on a monthly basis to the R&D departement so they can crack their heads over it and issue an official ruling.
Leading to zero frustration.
Also... some sort of "external council" would greatly benefit GW when speaking of rules/models.
Are the (new) rules not too complicated?
Are the models / rules / items / changes /... balanced
What is the comunity looking for?
