Snow Cork Base

Post by Vojvoda »

This is the right forum.
My wood elf miniatures are going to be painted in winter scheme so,
I was thinkin of doing a snow base, i was thinking of putting pieces of cork, painting it up to represent the rocks, and then putting small amount of snow, to make it more fluffy looking. Does anyone have any pics to show me of models looking like this. Also what is the best kind of snow, the baking soda with pva glue and water, or the snow that can be bought from hobby shops anyone got any ideas.

pva with baking soda and water looks really nice, as it looks like proper snow, where as the snow flock looks quite flat, i was considering combining the 2 for my snow bases....

I think that the rocks will look nice :) just don't make them too bluey looking :)
Here's the jig, you don't have to agree with what i say, you can tell me that you don't... Just don't expect me to care.

I prefer GW's snow flock. I think it looks like that fluffy cosy snow. =) It's a bit expensive but looks very nice. You might have to apply it in two or more layers to get the effect you want though.

Check out this army if you haven't: http://uk.games-workshop.com/campaignwe ... l-loren/4/

It looks very nice! (it is totally unfluffy though, with so many forest spirits)

I used the bicarb-pva method on my tau and this is how it turned out.
