This is the right forum.
My wood elf miniatures are going to be painted in winter scheme so,
I was thinkin of doing a snow base, i was thinking of putting pieces of cork, painting it up to represent the rocks, and then putting small amount of snow, to make it more fluffy looking. Does anyone have any pics to show me of models looking like this. Also what is the best kind of snow, the baking soda with pva glue and water, or the snow that can be bought from hobby shops anyone got any ideas.

I prefer GW's snow flock. I think it looks like that fluffy cosy snow. =) It's a bit expensive but looks very nice. You might have to apply it in two or more layers to get the effect you want though.

I used the bicarb-pva method on my tau and this is how it turned out.

I like the bases aswell.
