Well, I enjoy looking at others post cool stuff on here, so I thought I could post my little project. I went to a tournament over this last weekend. Placed 5th overall and won Best Sportsmanship. I got a perfect paint score, and would have won that too, but display boards are tie breakers and I only brought this sad thing.

So, obviously, it is time to step it up. I started with some foam, cut it to the size I wanted, and cut out my terrain. Watered down some PVA glue, and gave it a bath. Primer. Primer. Primer. Dry brushed grey, and then white on cliff facing. painted the bottom of the river.

After that I got some Coarse Pumice Gel and tinted it to taste. Applied to the board. I wish I had known it shrunk this much, because some parts were under-covered due to shrinkage. Some quick (albeit uneven) drybrushing to break it up. Then added some Woodland scenics water effects. I had a lot of trouble getting this stuff to dry clear. In hind-site, i should have used realistic water and used the water effect to add texture. I ended up painting over the milky parts and doing another very thin layer of water effects.

Next was to make the waterfall. Wax paper doesn't work.

Again, making thicker layers failed to dry clear so, after several attempts, I did get one to dry clear .
Added some trees to the scene

I then added some woodland scenics fine turf (the mixed foliage) and glued on the waterfall

Used cotton balls and pulled it out to create a misty effect (yes I know, i haven't cleaned out the excess debris)

Static grass

Added leaves to the ground (secret miniature)

I still have a bit of work to do. I need to finish the edges, which I will likely just use some dry wall mud, sand, and paint. I need to put it in a frame, or on a piece of MDF.
The river still needs a bit of touching up, but it is getting close.
Any thoughts on ways to improve it welcome. I'll try and add some once it's 'done'.
*PS* Sorry for hyper links but apparently my phones pictures are to high in pixels, and I don't feel like re-sizing everything.
