Snow

[The Forest Lord Daereth]

With the current snow, I was inspired to write a poem:

Snow

Stars, so many the sky is full,
Grey instead of coal,
Hide the face that smiles down
On children shiv’ring cold.

Far on wind stars drift not up,
To cover Earth below.
Green is gone and white has come:
That white that we call snow.

On ground it lies, half foot deep –
Seems like fun to some.
Others curse at biting cold;
“More will prob’ly come.”

Hands of snow are gathered up;
Through air to en’my fly.
Back and forth, the fight plays out,
‘Til warm inside and bye.

In time the snow will melt away
And Moon again shine bright.
As Spring now makes its entrance,
Snowman has a fright!
