Treeman conversion

Post by laribold »

Hi all,

I'm pretty pleased with this conversion and thought I'd show it off!
;)

So here is Wishkamabynaci, the Master of Life:

and with dryad for scale purposes:

It started out life as one of these:
http://warcraftminis.com/media/catalog/ ... 041_01.jpg
which I felt was a bit short for a treeman.

So I cut it in half and extended using spare sprue and green stuff. Sculpted the green stuff as bark. Added dryad arms for small branches and three spare larger branches from the Citadel Woods kit.

Painting is still in progress but mainly just finishing off and doing the base

And best of all, his first game was a victory and he roundly saw off a unit of Khorne warriors followed by a unit of Tzeentch warriors! Huzzah!

Hope you like!

At first, when I looked at that miniature on which you had based your conversion, it felt as a pretty underwhelming/bad miniature. But due to your work, I'm seriously inspired to get one myself. Awesome stuff you got there.

Cheers chaps.

Krofna, I know what you mean about the original model. I really wasnt sure about it, but it was so cheap ( even getting it shipped from the US to the UK) that I thought I'd give it a go and see what came out. If i cut it up and it didn't work I wouldn't have lost too much.

Johnny M- I'm not sure what to do with the base yet, it's currently pretty plain. I'd be happy to hear any suggestions!

Furion, the beard was a fairly last minute addition as might want to use him as an Ancient and nothing says 'ancient' to me like a beard!

I'm tempted myself of buying 6 of those and converting to treekins. Do they fit neatly on 40mm tho?

I'm one of those people in the school of 'bigger bases is better models', so I'm a little biased. I would slam him on a huge rock
