Well, I'll have it ready whenever I finish taking photos and modelling :D I'd be more than happy to include your Treekin - if you want to write a step-by-step as well, that would be great. It only needs to be short and doesn't have to include painting (it's a modelling article, primarily, as both the Dryads article and the Treeman article cover painting (and there's only so many ways to paint wood :D). As with Sotek's Prophet, PM me whenever you're done :)

What sort of article would you be interested in writing Rowiel? Painting and Modelling is a very broad category so you have almost complete freedom and whatever you write will undoubtedly prove useful - no one is a perfect painter or modeller so there are always things to learn off others. You could do an article on a particular technique such as NMM, freehand painting, glazes and washes etc., a painting guide for how to paint a specific figure or unit, an article on how to produce certain effects such as rusted metal or blood - the options really are endless.

If you have an idea for an article you would like to write, just drop me or one of the other LEAF writers a PM.

That's fair enough but I think the article would be more beneficial to a majority of members if the focus was on how to paint the nocturnal scheme rather than how to paint the mage if that makes sense. To that end, would you also consider including how to adapt your nocturnal scheme to other models like Glade Guard, Wardancers etc. in order to achieve overall cohesion throughout the army?

yes i think its an execellent idea in fact as that would make up a whole scheme that is explained... might take some time to do it actually but then i think it will be worth it :)

i will try to get an example as you said on various models of the wood elves army and i will also try to include what are the colours used and also how to adapt them

Not at all. The whole point of the LEAF is so that members of this site can learn from the experiences of others but also share their own experience of all things Warhammer, especially Wood Elves. All the LEAF writers really do is collate the collective knowledge of all the members and put it into a single article. It will be great to have your experience added to 'the pool' :)

If you have pictures of your Treekin and still want to write a write-up then feel free! I've got mine ready written (awaiting pictures of my own) so I can compile our separate works into a single article once they're ready.

I'd be happy to write something on 'freehand' designs and breaking them into easy steps? I recently did something similar for the banner below taking a banner from this:

to this:

(you can see the stages just looking through the photobucket account here - http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/gw/ )

If there was anything similar that might be usefull for LEAF lemme know :)

Thanks for the offer Shiodome. A "freehand" article would be much appreciated, and it's one we've been planning for a while but Ryikko hasn't yet written. He's working on something else at the moment so you are quite free to work on this yourself :)

So now i've volunteered, erm... what have i volunteered for? :D Is there a prefered format/length? How does one go about submitting it, or does the author just make a forum thread and it gets moved? what is the 'scope'? Freehand could be purely technique, or specific designs, anything from beginners (like painting chequered surfaces), to 'advanced' (painting whole scenes onto a model). Are examples limited to WE models only, or WHFB only? or does it not really matter?

erm... man, that's a lot of questions.

Basically, you report to me :smirk:

You can write to as much length as you need to do the subject justice.
You can format it however you deem suitable.
You can either write the article solo and submit it to me via email or PM, or you can start a thread to discuss the topic and pool the experiences of the community, as JRGumby did with the Green Stuff Introduction article.
The scope can be whatever you're comfortable with writing about. If, once we get the article, we feel there's something that needs including we'll let you know and ask you to write a bit about that "thing" for inclusion until we're happy :smirk:
Examples don't have to be limited to Wood Elf models only, or Warhammer Fantasy only, but the techniques etc. should preferably be applicable in some way for Wood Elf models - for example, most Wood Elf players won't want to know how to paint Orc glyphs but if it can help them paint Wardancer tattoos then it would be more useful :smirk:

Also, although this shouldn't be a problem for you, the article should be in UK English ;)

I could alway write an article on Tattoos. I have a model that i'm gonna do tatoos on soon so...I tend to do lots of conversions too so i could always try to take a few more WIP pic. for an article.

Is someone doing an article about choosing an Asrai army?
It would be very helpful for new players, I guess.
