Ok, so some of you wanted to see some of the Original Wood Elves that I was talking about in my other post so here they are...
(btw, I don't need you people to remind me I suck at painting, so please be a bit nice on your comments, k?)

here is my original post if you didn't read it: "Well I do, and I was wondering where the original Glade Guard would fit in, I am assuming the eternal guard. And I was wondering if anyone else still plays with those original models."
Well at least I think these are the original Wood Elves

These are just the previous editions'. Those two mages were available till the 6th ed release.
I'm sure everyone has tonnes of these, I know I have lots I want to get rid of.

Oh yeah, my brother has tons of them, and I have a couple of those Glade Riders as Reavers (and vice versa). Those are nice models (at least if they're well painted)Krayayde wrote:And I was wondering if anyone else still plays with those original models."

I still use my old 3rd edition Wood Elf figs, but had to bring in some 4th/5th ed Dryads to fill those slots. If you want to check out the old figs, go to the "The Stuff of Legends" site to check out all the old Citadel, Marauder, and GW figs.

I thought about using my old War Dogs, Wild Cats, Wild Boars and Bears for Dryads, hmmm, not sure yet!

I wouldn't call your models original, they are just old... You didn't expect that most new editions got new models? Some of the older models can easely be used now, just as "stand ins" for current models. Some of the old Beastmaster models can fx be used as Alters, or your 5th ed Spearmen as Eternal Guards

If you are hopping on the High Elf bandwagon, add a bow and quiver sprue and fluff them to be from Avelorn. Use Ellyrion Reaver rules (counts as) and build a green-themed High Elf Avelorn Host (Guardians of the Everqueen or something).
Old High Elf fluff says the realm of Avelorn (home to the Everqueen on the inner coast of northern Ulthuan) is much like a Wood Elf realm. There's even a treeman (named Oakheart) in the background section of one of the old High Elf army book' editions.
