Asrai Changelog & Feedback

Post by Naggie »

Since the crash, quite a lot have changed. Here is our change to sum it up and to evaluate what is good and not (all of this is of course reversible).
  • » New Reports Function (Post, Topic & User)
    » Portal Page is back
» Chat is back, now with smiles
» Understandable Date Settings in Profile
» Renamed both of our skins
    » Added Bot Prevention
    » New set of Smiles
    » New green Rank Images
» Staff Site is back and improved
» Profile Views has changed a lot (new display and addition of rank images)
» Faster & Easier Poll Creation
» Posts from today/yesterday says so
    » Better looking Jumpboxes
This list may be updated at any time. Feel free to give opinions on these modifications in this topic. The more feedback we get, the better we know how something has been accepted by the community.

I agree, but since they aren't really important, we'll save that for later :)

Don't really like the thing that says how many posts and threads are in each forum. It looks too cluttered.

Mal: Well... you... can't.

In my opinion, I don't really mind about that. What was that saying? Oh yes, 'don't fix it if it ain't broke'. It does add a bit of detail to what could be a nondescript main forum.

I kind of agree. Why not use the "standard" phpBB format instead?

That was something I tested and wanted feedback on. Seems as most people do not like it. Thus, I'll change it back.

EDIT: Done

Added the Jumpboxes mod. Now the "jump to" box at the bottom right of each thread is better structured and easier to use.

How about a "Delete" option for the user if their post is the most recent in a thread?

Isn't there such an option already?

EDIT: Apparently not.

What I'm specifically looking to hear feedback on:

- Fast Polls
- Today/Yesterday
- Date Settings
- names of our new skins

I really like the new dates (and times). They are much more understandable for everyone now. The today and yesterday things are also good, but I don't really care about the names of the skins  and I haven't tried the new polls.

he said to use the glade of light skin if you didnt like the total topics and posts in forum thing on the index of the site- but the total topics and posts thing is only in the glade of light skin.

I have no idea what you mean by fast polls, i dont like the yesterday thing, but today is ok, date settings dont really care about as i understood the old one, and i dont really like the names of the skins.

edit: whats with the forums for fun name? its kinda ridiculous.

The Glade of Light uses the old style. Now both skins does that, but the issue was about the move of "X posts in Y topics" from their old little boxes to the right of the forum explanation to the same line as "Moderator: ".

The "Forums for Fun" was something I just wrote when I first started to add forums to the empty site. It kinda stuck and has never bothered anyone enough to get a change in order...

The Online List at the bottom of the Forum Index page and on the right of the Home page is failing to highlight Moderators as Green and Administrators as Orange; I just saw Deathjester and Yak in plain grey format.

I have fiddled a bit with the moderators usergroups and that can have been the issue with the colours. I will need to look into that a bit more (or let Kul do it as he applied the colour in the first place).

What's wrong with the times of posts?
