Asrai.org Welcome Competition

Post by Yak »

Well as you may have noticed, the site is going through a lot of changes. One of the changes has been that our welcome passage on our home page has been, er, 'misplaced'.

As such we are running a competition for one of you to write a new welcome message for the homepage of the site. It should be at most 150 words long, and should not only welcome people to the site, explaining what we do and what you can expect to find here, but also touch on the background of the woodelves.

Closing date for this is 2 weeks, so the 11th December. That should give you plenty of time to get your creative juices going.

Post your questions/entries here.

The winner gets a shiny prize...
Yak's 1st Law: Take an eagle if you have a free rare slot
Yak's 2nd Law: There are 4 reasons to take a highborn
Yak's 3rd Law: If you have a treeman and a free Lord slot, make it an Ancient

Make that the 17th of December. After the 17th, I will have much more free time to fiddle with that sort of things.

Welcome to Asrai.org...
The biggest, most active Wood Elf site on the internet, this forum is dedicated to bring you the best tactics, army lists and general cool stuff an Asrai could ever need.
From their forest, the Wood Elves wage an unending war against Orcs, Beastmen and other foul creatures. Humble archers to crone-like Dryads, ferocious Wild Riders to mighty Treemen, the denizens of Athel Loren will fight to the last to protect their home. With our help, you can help them prevail. Prepare to enter... Asrai.org!

That's odd... I've only been here for almost three months and it's seemed to me that you've changed it more than that...

How many entries per person?

I'd say one, but you are free to change your entry until the last minute. However, this is Yak's competition, so he's the one to call.

When you say 17 December, do you mean 11:59PM or 12AM? Similarly what does this translate to in GMT?

I'll have to say my time (GMT+1). So before it turns to the 18th of December :) Not that I can't be flexible

Is it more preferable that we PM them?

Up to you. You can PM them to me, and then we'll have a vote on it in the staff forum. Or you can post them here if you prefer.

And yes, you may edit your entry right up to the point of judging.

Yak's 2nd Law: There are 4 reasons to take a highborn

The definite prize has not yet been decided, but a custom title is included.

What we do: Discuss, tune lists, write articles.
What you can find: A warm community, lots of good advice, and hopefully a new home online.

By that, I take that the entries are going to go through a poll of some sort?

Something along those lines. It culd be an real poll in the staff forum, or a simple discussion over MSN... It'll depend.
