Asrai.org Member of the Year Award 2011 - Winner Announced!
Another year has been and gone and so once more it's time to take a look back and reflect on the past twelve months and look forward to the new year ahead!
2011 has been another great year. As always, our monthly modelling challenges have been hotly contested throughout the year, providing a fine display of modelling and painting achievements. The Artisan's Contests continue to be popular and we've seen fascinating concoctions and creations emerge from the Weald of Evolution. We've had two "firsts" for Asrai.org - in the summer, we ran the hugely successful Miniature Exchange (if you haven't seen it, take a look at the Hall of Fame thread!) where twenty-three generous souls volunteered to paint a figure for a complete stranger! A great time was had by all, and it looks very much like we'll run another one next year, hopefully with even more participants! As well as the Miniature Exchange, we've also launched our very first online campaign - Sentinels of Shadows: Crossing Paths. This is taking place right now and will be winding down in a couple of weeks but it's been a huge success so far and it's been great to see players from this site taking part and enjoying themselves.
Of course, it's also the time of year that we take a look back at the contributions made to this site by every member and applaud that one member in particular who has gone that little bit further and done that little bit extra to make this forum the extra-special place that it is - the Member of the Year.
And so, just as in previous years, forum members can nominate and vote for each other. If you wish to nominate someone, then just make a post stating "I nominate X" (with X being the name of the member) and state your reasons why. You can nominate absolutely anyone who you think qualifies for "Best Member". If you appreciate one or more members, this is your chance to show it. So what are you waiting for?
Nominations will end in just over a week's time, on Friday 16th December at midnight GMT!

I nominate Baardah.
He's been in just about every competition, participates with constructive criticism in many a thread, creates his own ideas (Gnomes army among others) to share with the rest of us, and has a pleasant disposition to discuss things with.
Thanks for all your contributions Baardah!

Well, my ideas for the next book turned out to be a bust.
But it was still fun working on something of this scale.

I also nominate Baardah, for contributing to the organisation of the contests and general input.
Question to the GM ( or no wait, to the moderators ) can we nominate more then one person?

Thanks for the nomination guys I really appreciate it.
I would answer with a nomination for Shandrakor. He is always constructive and pleasant in his discussions. Is a very enlightened member when it comes to rules and is a participating member in contests aswell as in the general discussions on the site

Re: Asrai.org Member of the Year Award 2011
Well, I cant point out only one member. Nor I can vote coz most of the year I was absent, but lately (last cca three months) I can say mr. Shandrakor and mr. Noght deserve votes. They both are good in terms of generalship, and pretty much give good and solid advices. Also, they are very pleasant to talk with and much to learn from. When we talk about artistic branch, I can't forget about mr. Baardah, as his work and his, I'd say, persistence made this forum better. Also, this stands for yet another member: Tuhis, and I think you'll all agree he also contributed to artisan's part of forum pretty much. Last, but not the least, I'd like to point out mr. Beithir as a moderator, coz he's our beloved butler of the forum (if I'm not mistaken, he's done a great job tiding up and getting things to work here on forum).
So, summa summarum would be: Baardah, Beithir, Nought, Shandrakor and Tuhis (in alphabetical order, lol i hope i didnt mess this up).

You guys are nice but Shandrakor is the MAN.
Consider him "Thirded" which is way more than "Seconded".
If you have read any of his posts on Army Changes.....amazing really.

I would vote for shandrakor and bardah. Both have lot of experience to share and do this often in a pleasant way.
Logics and tabletops are incompatible.
Re: Asrai.org Member of the Year Award 2011
My vote goes to the guys whose posts helped me break 60% w/l with woodies this year -- Noght and Sylvos. Hard picks though, as this community is pretty great.

Re: Asrai.org Member of the Year Award 2011
I'm going to be greedy and make three nominations with no order, as things would've fallen apart without any of them.
Salamander for getting the campaign site to function and for some fantastic characters in it.
T12161991 for tag-teaming the turn fluff with me and for making the turn updates go well
And Beithir for managing both the elf and greenskin factions while being leaderish
I'm afraid I can't make any that are specifically for the site in general as I've not been as active as I'd like and the campaign's taken over my warhammer mindset. Hopefully going to get back to things next year. Hopefully.

Re: Asrai.org Member of the Year Award 2011
Forgot to include my own nominations!
Baardah and Shandrakor, for their fantastic contributions to the forum.
t12161991, Salamander and Mist Walker for their contributions to the site campaign and moderating team. Most of our work has been done behind the scenes, so I wouldn't expect most people to be aware of it. But it's been there, all year long.
~~~
And on that note, the nominations are closed.
Voting has commenced, so please take the time to vote and show these people how much they are appreciated
Voting will finish in two weeks time on New Years' Eve!
