Asrai.org Member of the Year Award 2009 Nominations!

Post by Beithir Seun »

So another year has been and gone, and it's time again to contemplate the happenings of the past four seasons and look back over the highs and lows of 2009. We've had a great number of highs as a site this year - the Modelling Challenges are now in full swing and have become a staple of the Meadow of Arts forum; along with the Seasonal Modelling Challenges, they've all produced some absolutely stunning work which really serves to demonstrate the quality of painters and modellers we have on the site. As well as the arty competitions, we also had the 2009 Fiction Competition which was a great success (despite being plagued by delays). As the judge of that competition I can only hope the entries next year are half as good! 2009 has also seen the introduction of the Artisan's Contests; following on from the massive success of the Lost Kindreds army book project, the Artisan's Contests have given everyone the chance to flex their creativity and imagination and we've had some fascinating new rules written for a variety of themes!

Although the crash of just over a week ago threatened to dampen our end-of-year cheer, Nagathi once again rose to the challenge as he has so often done in the past and so, although we're here to nominate someone for the MotY Award, we must also take this opportunity to once again thank Nagathi for another twelve months of ceaseless dedication, and for the work he has put into the site over the years so that we might enjoy such a great site as this.

And now, with the formalities over, we can get down to nominations! As with last year, forum members can nominate and vote for each other. If you wish to nominate someone, then just make a post stating "I nominate X" (with X being the name of the member) and state your reasons why. You can nominate absolutely anyone who you think qualifies for "Best Member". If you appreciate one or more members, this is your chance to show it. So what are you waiting for?

You have one week to nominate!

I nominate Bethir Seun for his tireless efforts in keeping this circus on the twisty and narrow. He's always ready to do what it takes to keep this site one of the best around.

I second AMA, as even Beithir has trouble keeping up with his post count

I'll second both AMA and Beithir.

As to post count- this is the first time since my joining the site that AMA's percentage of posts on the site has dropped below 6%, and his posts per day below 15...

In the interest of getting same names nominated that are not AMA and Beither I nominate The Virgin Forest and T12161991 (though seriously couldn't you come up with a name that i don't have to look at to type it out?)

Being a bit of a newbie, I'll go with TVF and would also like to nominate Strongbow as I've really appreciated their knowledge, wit and help.

I may have excluded admins, which would include AMA. But if people wanna vote for us, I'm not one to stop them :) I'm nothing more than a code monkey nowadays. I don't contribute to the community more than destroying the site from time to time and paying the bills :p

That's fine with me (the admin excluding bit).

Why don't I just nominate you for Administrator of the Year, you nominate me, and then everyone can vote for you 'cause you deserve it. :D

We could have one specific category for "Council Member of the Year" which includes all council members.

You know the part in our discussion thread where I said "does anyone have any objections?" That might have been the time to mention excluding Council Members :smirk:

So do you want to have a seperate award for Council members or not?

I knew you'd say something like that <.<

Well in that case, I would leave things as they are. We didn't exclude Council members last year, nor did we have a seperate award for Council members. If that is alright by you Nag, that is what we will do.
