Member of the Year Award
Well, the race was close and the votes were many. I even thought it might continue to stall out in a draw. But alas, the one member managed to pull through in votes. In a tight vote, I am proud to announce that Beithir Seun has been bestowed the Asrai.org Member of the Year Award 2009!
Beithir has been on the site for two and a half years now, and he has been a cool-headed and valuable contributor to essentially all forums across the board. He is a well-known presence in the Glade of Gathering, and has in all his time as a member here been a frequent reviver of the often-times quiet Grove of Tales, its predecessor the Meadow of Tales and even before that (if my memory serves me correct) the Fluff & Fiction forum. His defusing and calm demeanour is often a valued trait when things get hairy (and they do) and yet he has a lot to say on almost every single matter. This has made Beithir's contribution to the LEAF project--both as a writer and editor--most valuable.
However, we mustn't forget about all those other members that help make this forum the great community that it is. The wealth of nominations that members could come up with is living proof of this, and I would also like to commend all the nominees too for being such valued members among the community. So once again, congratulations to Beithir Seun for being such a great member. We hope you've all had an enjoyable holiday!

Re: Member of the Year Award
Thanks everyone. There are several other members who definitely deserve this more than me and I'm just exceedingly grateful to even be considered alongside people like Rammie, Hyarion and AMA.
The real thanks should go out everyone; without all our valued members the site wouldn't have the valued reputation that it does, as one of the friendliest, most welcoming and informative sites around. Heartfelt thanks to all.

Very well deserved!
Beithir is one of those solid tree trunks that gives our fair realm stability and balance! Keep it up Beithir.
And it is good to see people take my threats seriously!
Anyway, may your Eternal guards never take one step backwards!
