I've noticed that the server and database are way more cooperative if I fondle them instead of bashing them. So it's not really my choice of words, but theirs
Oh, and if you're interested, taking the server back-up (a must before any server fondling) took me four hours. I.e. I have yet to do much maintenance. When activity cools off tonight, expect me to start chopping away again.
