I wanna run wildwood rangers and I figured life/high buffs is a good place to start. The problem is how much they alter list composition to include them. Heres a rough draft, looking for insight on character and equipment choices and well everything actually. Any suggestions are welcome tear it up..

Re: Ranger horde 2500
Are you not using the updated 50% allowances for Lords and Heroes Zanthorn? If you are, I'd recommend getting 4th levels on your casters to improve spell selection.
I'm a little concerned that it lacks heavy board control but overall it seems pretty sound. Might struggle vs characters a bit in combat because it's only got 3 attacks over S5.
This is controversial but I think Beasts might be a good call instead of High.

Ya I forgot to say no end times no latest errata for characters, just straight brb rules.. thus the lvl3 status. Any suggestions here?

How about the +1 movement banner to make the "slow" WWR a little faster?
I guess the MR is more important though...

That item would be in every list.

I think Swiftness could be good.

Re: Ranger horde 2500
I'm kinda thinking I should lose the high mage and upgrade to lvl4 on the ancient. In tandem the TMA provides stubborn and this would leave pts for a glittering shadowdancer instead, plus another unit or two. Thoughts?
I like the movement banner, just not sure I can do without MR.

Re: Ranger horde 2500
Personally, I don't rate Life as a stand-alone Lore for us. Maybe it's a playstyle thing but having Dwellers as the only must-dispel (not even that vs WoC or Ogres) outside of combat felt very restrictive to me.
M6 on the best unit looks more important than a 6+ Ward vs spells to me. It's a decent size and the enemy is more likely to target Waywatchers and Wild Riders with his magic missiles.

Feel free to bring the Power Scroll and surprise your opponent if you aren't using FAQs or Erratas.Zanthorn Mist Walker wrote:Ya I forgot to say no end times no latest errata for characters, just straight brb rules.. thus the lvl3 status. Any suggestions here?

Haha nah I've seen that in action, note I said no latest errata 'for characters'.
Still trying to get rangers to work well enough to be the army's focus. I've found the TMA and foot weaver isn't where I wanna be. High magic is great though. I'm now thinking about double wraiths- one attached to each corner of the unit. Life buffs, challenges, redirects etc. Anyone tried this?

I found one Branchwraith good with EG.
Ironically I mainly brought her for Earthblood and that turned out the least useful thing!
