You know, if you guys keep bringing out stuff like this, then my elves might just have to leave the aticc where they are currently in hibernation....

Treekin still look great, though I'm not sure in what lists you'd want to take Eternal Guard or Rangers.
The archery seems to be getting towards a balance.

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
Thank you Yuri, looking forward to having a read through.
Is there any scope for Special Characters being introduced into T9A? Feel that we have lost an element in that with Wood Elves especially. Not to take away from all the great work happening in T9A, I understand the copyright infringement thing might be whats holding this back, but would love to see some decent rules for Orion and The Sisters of Twilight not to mention other oldies that could be brought back.
Thanks for all your work over the Yuri and the rest of the team. I think it is fantastic that this took off so well and is getting the support it really deserves

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
The old special characters are, sadly, dead and gone, due to the aforementioned IP issues. However, the Rules Team aims to have rules you can use to represent any model you would have fielded before, including the character models. We at the Background & Art Team will be pushing for new special characters at some point, but that day is way off in the future, since the current workload just to get the books up and running for us is very big indeed. It's going to take us years to complete the current books. Any additional material, such as special characters, additional background and new books, will come after that. But, we do promise that we'll keep adding to the game year after year, as long as there is demand.

Thanks for the update Niedfaru, will be sure to keep an eye out for future development. I am behind a great deal in reading into this system but from what i have seen it is very well thought out. Plenty to keep everyone busy for now.Niedfaru wrote:The old special characters are, sadly, dead and gone, due to the aforementioned IP issues. Right I'm off to see if the Triple Tree list is viable...

Thanks Yuri.
Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
Hello!
I just wanted to let you guys know that the official v1.0 version of the rules of 9th age has been published!
link: http://www.the-ninth-age.com/index.php?simple-page/
The game is now complete, and won't be changing in the near future (the next patch won't be until 2017, probably).
So it's time to get playing, painting and discussing again!
oh, and a small treat for you tree-huggers: a series of sylvan battle reports from the recent TGH team tournament in Herford!
http://www.the-ninth-age.com/blog/index ... e-reports/
I will be glad to see some of you old timers trying out the 9th Age!
Cheers,
Smith

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
I've just read the book and for me it is fabulous. I am very sad that i'd sold a good portion of my wood elves to a fellow friend due to financial issues:(
Now i think that I will definetely start again:)
I loved the concept of Elven Cloak, sylvan blades, kindreds and nature aspects and especially the coolness of the book. It is definetly well internal balanced that is fun to play
Cheers:)

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
This book is lovely, artwork is spot on not sure where it came from but its really good
So when are we going to see special characters in T9A. Will we ever have rules for The Allfather?

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
The artwork comes from the 9th Age Art Team that is slaving away behind the scenes.
It is highly unlikely Allfather would ever have rules since he is a god, but legendary characters is something we are planing to include in the future.

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
Happy days, thought the brief description I read about the Allfather sounded like GW's own Wood Elf demi-god. I'm still flicking through and reading rules looking at pictures. I'll have a proper read soon though. It looks fantastic! Glad to hear there will be characters later on some time

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
@Frogboy: If you are looking for a demigod that may one day have rules, similar to Orion in the old books, look to Cadaron. He is the Forest King, after all. He also may be other things, but we leave you to draw your own conclusions on that front.

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
My favorite were always the 'Sisters of Twilight'. Hopefully they'll do something similar, that or players will pay for two generic heroes but only one eagle/dragon mount.

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
Unfortunately, nobody seems to be playing 9th age in my area. It's been a while since GW killed fantasy but it is still pretty sad, especially as groups and forums are really starting to die now.

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
There's a map feature on the 9th Age website that lets you find local players. Not everyone has put their location on it, but it's worth a shot.
