Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I'll be really curious to see how they integrate the round and square bases eventually.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Dare I say it OMG!!!
If I play I will definitely be turning to the dark side, quite like the basic Chaos dudes, and the Sigmarite Monster Mounted Hero; otherwise might as well play Space marines - to say I am NOT impressed is a HUGE understatement.
Dare not think what will happen to our Woodies.
The only thing you can say is the Truth is Out at Last and I was right about more hammers less skulls for the Empire/Sigmarites!

So..., the huge big way to revitalise Fantasy is really as the most cynical negative voices said. We now have Space Marinehammer.
The only thing they could come up with to revitalise the Fantasy side was just to make it look more like 40k?

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I heard that elves were going to get a major makeover as well. Kind of a combo of Native American, Aztec, and Pict. I personally like the more tidy and sophisticated elf design, but a more savage take could probably fit in with a wood-elf theme just fine.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I kinda like the new models. They arent as clunky as marines, but i do tend to generally ignore 40k. The hammers are cool but a weapom variation may have been nice. The winged dudes look cool and the hero mount looks badass. It is different from what we are used to, but i think its all about to change. If this is what they have in store, im all for it.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Well I definitely not play the age of sigmar, my gaming experience stops with with warhammer 8th edition. But for any collecter out there, like myself those models are awesome, even if the Humans look like Space Marines.
Cheers

So IF W.E's look more pictish, we'll look like Wardancers then!

How so?? Kiera is a member of The First Nations. Picts are the original inhabitants of my own country Scotland. Two VERY different ethnicities and cultures mate. W.E's are based on Iron Age Celts anyway, so going Pictish will make them look a bit more like Wardancers, and indeed should make them look like the previous metal edition.
Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Well..we already have a lot of bare chested wild riders, wardancers etc, if this rumor is correct I think it means all elves will be more WE looking which is a good thing . I've alway thought DE and HE where more similar to empire than woodelves anyway.Nicholas Nitro wrote:I heard that elves were going to get a major makeover as well. I do hope we keep our cloaks on at least a few models though.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I hope the rumours about the elves being more Native American/Pict are true, I have quite a few of the "old" metal wardancers lol!
Iceni chariots anybody; must dust off the very old Elven War Chariot - here's hoping!

WFB FAQ's have now gone from the website, won't be long now... sadly it feels more like a drawn out death than a new beginning.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
They might actually be space marines, read the fluff in the white dwarf scans...
I really hope not though.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I was going to say... they look an awful lot like actual Space Marines. The fluff on a couple of the pages that were posted read like something from 40K not WFB. I didn't recognize ANY of the place names mentioned. Are we sure this is WFB?
If it is I have some news for GW. They did this to me once before 20 years ago when they "disappeared" my Space Dwarves with a hand wave. They're not going to get my Woodies too. However, I will wait until I am absolutely certain of what is going on here.

So it's no longer the BRB, now it's the DERB. (Digital Edition Rule Book) I am all in for 9th Age.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
My only hope for the new ed hangs on the elves. I really hope we can recognize them enough. I fear they will make them all WoW vulgär rather than native American/Pictish. If they do that, I guess it is pretty ok. Done right.
