New warhawk rider model?

Post by Sindaril »

Danellosi!

So... Tried to order a triple warhawk from my local gw retailer. Nothing in stock so they have to order it from gw. Few days later i recieved the answer that the product is not anymore available. I call gw in england (probably end up in india callcenter). They say whats also says on the gw url that the model is temporarily out of stock. Hmmm whats going on? Anyone heard anything bout a new model? Do they release models after the big release?

On the online store there is a button saying "email me" on the sold out models. Take use of it!
As you get first priority in buying it if you sent the mail. If enough ppl buy straight of a email link they wont put something they make avalible to purchase into the store before they make even more of it!

Wild rider kit is also on "email" me notice now in the UK store! Good to se wood elfs are selling more than GW anticipated! :)
That was mutch needed.

I am also finding it impossible to get glade riders for a few months now.

Surly GW would have made these models available right before releasing a new book.

Interesting, Glade Riders are available on the US GW online store at least. Maybe they just still have some in stock whereas they are sold out where you live... hmm.
As for thinking ahead, well, that's not GW's forte sometimes it seems...

My guess is that there will be no new warhawk riders, glade guards or glade riders. Whatever there is pictures of in an army book
usually don’t get re-sculpts. On that note, I have found no pictures of tree kin.

As several models are still white metal, the new warhawks won't be in finecast; it has been discontinued, and is moving to Forgeworld. Maybe they will appear in a plastic set, but I doubt that too, my guess it they will remain metal, and are being recast. Still we can live in hope!!!

I think this has been said before, but they did make a mysterious note on Warhawk riders in the What's new today blog.

If they do repackage them, I'm sure they'll make them available in a box of 3.

Gamezone minatures have fantastic Warhawk models. Their range is by and large fantastic. I absolutely love their Blood Knights and can't wait to get some for my Undead.

I like the Hobbit eagles too, but I think they may be a bit big.

Just a note, Waywatchers had been out of stock online for about a week, but returned yesterday as available to order.

I wonder if converting Warhawk Riders using bits from the New Eternal Guard (really just need the spears), the Glade Guard and the eagle from the High Elf Flying Chariot is viable? Ebay?

As I posted on an other thread. In the new army book there is not a single photo that shows either the Warhawks nor the eagles. It may simply mean that by the time they went to print the book the new miniatures where not ready yet, or I so much want some new plastic Warhawks and eagles that I am day dreaming.

Cheers

I don't have my book on hand but I'm pretty sure there are warhawks shown in the models section. I seem to recall seeing them...

Pretty sure that's because we're not getting new ones. The interwebz would have spilled the beans on that if they were coming.

The next White Dwarf has nothing for Wood Elves, other than the third Orion novel going on to pre-order. If we were seeing a third week release, it would be in there. No Warhawks :(

That's what I was planning to mount my gladeriders on. Then I saw the prices from online bitz shops and changed my mind.

Actually if you look very closely at the picture on page 70-71. The warhawk riders at the back have new rider models than the old ones. I think thats a fincast set coming.
