SPAM

Post by Aezeal »

Have I missed it before or is it really a new thing.. last week we've been getting the spam/ad topics about daily. I'm pretty sure I've reported at least 7 last 2 weeks Can something be done about it? It must be annoying for the mods to keep deleting it.

I'm pretty sure you know the deal about causality. At the moment, the only way to stop all spam attacks is to stop all activity on the forum. Make it a read only website. The admins and moderators are well aware of the issue, thanks to your reports.

Personally, I am on vacation and can't do much from here. But when I get home I'll see if there's some updates I can do.

GL on the vacation have fun there.
Stopping activity on the forum seems excessive :D.
I was just wondering if there are other ways to stop them (I lack all knowledge from website stuff and their access/safety procedures so I just don't know if it can be stopped or not).

You can report them, it's best not to post there either as that makes more work for the MODs, so if you see something dodgy then just hit report and ignore it.
Its been too long since we burned a heretic, witch hunt anyone !??

With the current staff, we're handling spam attacks fairly quickly, I'd say. But as for how to handle them for our users, just hit report and ignore for a few hours.
I've now also updated the software and made some changes to our registration. Hopefully this will reduce the spam attacks. We'll see what happens...
