But I want to enter with my Treeman Ancient that I'm currently trying to finish. She is custom built, so I got a little confused with the rulings of the challenge. You stated
We are hoping for a character, there are 16 in the current range.
Does that meant you only want entries from the current GW woodelf range of minis?
Sorry for the confusion I was stating that as there are 16 miniatures in the character range. Perhaps there was a model that person had not yet painted that they could enter.

You can also enter models from past ranges that count as a character. If you have the old mounted mage on a horse, or the older mounted mage on the great eagle. All of this is welcome =)

I shall make a start tomorrow!

Although quick question...can I paint up my converted high elf Mage? I do have others but I would like to showcase the Mage, if that makes any sense....

We're after Wood Elf characters. So long as what you paint is a character for your Wood Elf army, you can enter it.

Great, I was meant to say it's a high elf Mage converted to be a wood elf!

When he referred me here, he was mentioning I should enter the scratchsculpt treeman I'm working on, so I would say no...?

I think the point is that you have to make a reasonable representation of a unit entry in our current army book, that is a single model. Or am I mistaken?

No, a "character" is something from the Lords or Heroes section an army list.

Same. Should be some pretty cool stuff. I'd like to enter, but I may not have enough time. Leaving internet zones, for two weeks, starting in a week plus change... :(

ha, I kept popping back to this thread and thinking the same thing.

I really like the idea of monthly challenges, gives me a bit of necessary focus as I do tend to get distracted and continually start converting new models.

Not trying to make changes now, but I would have liked a bit more restrictions to this one though, making it a magic user for example, or a fighter, or BSB, etc. Just because it'll give us more scope for challenges for the next few months, as I doubt many people will be painting up whole new units with new releases potentially lurking just on the horizon.

Don't worry, this is just the first of (hopefully) many. There'll be plenty of scope and variety to come :)

@popisdead: I love challenges very motivating. So we have to keep our entry a secret meaning we can't post it in our plogs until after the voting? How does this work do you post our entry in a new thread for voting after the 28th Feb? Sorry I'm new :paranoid:

I'm happy to hear that. Motivation is the primary goal of these painting contests. I take part in them for the exact same reason =)

Just don't post any pictures here. PM me a link.

If you want to post it to your plog it just means others may see it first. I do that on other forums; it isn't a big deal.

Yes, I will have, possibly a new, thread with the entries and a poll (after Gottacon ends, so March 3rd).

Please don't worry about questions. Chances are several people will be wondering.

All you need to worry about is making sure you've sent me a link by Feb 28th.

Happy painting and looking forward to everyone's entries!

Nice to see these contests brought back after I dropped the ball. Been feeling guilty for some time. I hope I can find something to enter. My wood elves have been finished for a long time and I haven't bought any new WE in a while. Waiting patiently for a new book...
Still got a pretty full bitsbox so a conversion wouldn't be to hard to put together.

That item would be in every list.

That item is a horse...
