February 2014 Painting Challenge [VOTING]
Hello folks!
Well this took a while. I am tournament-hungover, and I had to spend a fair bit of time resizing these and posting them to my personal flickr account to get them below the 900 pixel limit.
If I missed anyone contact me immediately!
Vote for your favourite 2 entries.
Thanks to each and every one of you for entering!

Hello folks!
We are bringing back painting challenges. To gear up for <insert rumour here>, it's time we all paint something up.
Your February challenge is
a Character
Any Lord, Hero or Special Character in the Wood Elf book. The point is to paint a new model. We are encouraging people to paint.
New changes! PM me a link to your image so they are secret until voting starts.
Also the winner gets a shiny medal attached to their profile =)
Closing date Feb 28th.

Re: February 2014 Painting Challenge
Hmm maybe I will enter...Mainly because I need another reason besides my tournament to get my rear in gear and painting.
Edit: Any restrictions on models? Like should we use the stock wood elf models OR converted characters OR Treeman? lol

How do we prove we exist? Maybe we don't...
Re: February 2014 Painting Challenge
If you would use it as a character in a game.
The goal is PAINT! We want to see people painting and getting excited about their armies

Re: February 2014 Painting Challenge
Can the model be something you have already painted or do you have to start on one?
No amount of planning can ever replace dumb luck.
Re: February 2014 Painting Challenge
The purpose is to start a new model.

You will be PMing me links to the pictures.
All messages sent after Feb 28th will not be included.
We are hoping for a character, there are 16 in the current range. Perhaps it will be beneficial to run multiple mages next edition.

Re: February 2014 Painting Challenge
Right, I'm really enjoying being back into painting my Wood Elves and updating them a bit more, but I'm still the insanely slow painter that I've been for 20 years (at least I'm consistent). This'll give me a good incentive to finally finish my Alter that I bought and began converting when the model first came out.
Re: February 2014 Painting Challenge
Glad to hear folks, should be a good turnout =)
Re: February 2014 Painting Challenge
This might belong in a different thread but I was wondering if the picture of our models get put out in google or yahoo?
I'd love to see mine when I search for wood elves!

Think I might enter this one, a Highborn from an Eternal or Waywatcher Kindred could of course be fun to convert and paint?

Yes, the site is crawled by all the major search engines, so image search may display your pictures. E.g. if you search for Wood Elf Glade Guard Standard Bearer you can see one of the images from my painting log here on asrai.org (of course, Google tailors your results to you, so you may have slightly different results).Jamesaet3 wrote:This might belong in a different thread but I was wondering if the picture of our models get put out in google or yahoo?

Re: February 2014 Painting Challenge
I would like to take the opportunity to start participating in forum activities!
But I want to enter with my Treeman Ancient that I'm currently trying to finish. She is custom built, so I got a little confused with the rulings of the challenge. You stated

Does that meant you only want entries from the current GW woodelf range of minis? We are hoping for a character, there are 16 in the current range.
