Huntsmen Vs Ceithin Har (7th the good ol' days)

Post by Huntsmen »

Hello there Ceithin. How is this map?

Image

As for my army I'll be playing Choas Dwarfs if that is okay with you, if not then I'll play High Elves. Open or closed lists?

Also if you want me to setup a dicelog to store our rolls I can do that just simply pm me your email address. Its not necessary but it mean we don't have to post everyone of our rolls as we can both enter the dicelog and see them, if not I'm fine just trusting you and rolling and posting.

The map looks great,
go ahead and do the dicelog, and chaos dwarfs sounds good to me.
Kind regards,

I'll need your email to setup the dicelog in the mean time here's my list....

Chaos Dwarfs

Lord
Chaos Dwarf Lord - Great Tarus (230pts), Black Hammer of Hashut, Armour of the Furnace, Enchanted Shield @450pts

Hero's
Sorcerer - 2x Dispel Scrolls @115pts
Bull Centaur Hero - BSB, Armour of Gazrakh, Sword of Might @175pts
Hobgoblin Hero - Wolf, Hvy Armour, Shield, Black Gem of Gnar @93pts

Core
22 Chaos Dwarfs - stand, mus @218pts
23 Chaos Dwarfs - stand, mus @227pts
14 Blunderbusses @168pts
10 Hobgoblins @20pts
10 Hobgoblins @20pts
10 Hobgoblins @20pts
10 Hobgoblins @20pts
10 Hobgoblins @20pts

Special
2 Hobgoblin Bolt Throwers @60pts
2 Hobgoblin Bolt Throwers @60pts
12 Black Orcs - shields @168pts
Vespero's Vendetta (5*) @125pts

Rare
Earthshaker @110pts
6 Bull Centaurs - hvy armour, stand, mus, Warbanner @181pts

Its easy to make a very defensive Choas Dwarf list will max magic, lots of bolt throwers and 2 earthshakers. Its probably the most competitive build but makes for a very boring and unskilled game. So I decided to have a much more aggressive list and take the game to you. Now I hope you don't mind me fielding the Regiment of Renoun (vespero's Vendetta) but seeing as they are very overpriced I don't really see the problem, I just feel the list requires the skirmishers and they are the only option that doesn't take up a precious rare slot.

If you have any questions about the list or rules or magic items feel free to pm me.

Firstly you are a few points off here and there in your list. You Highborn should come in at 268pts (so I'm guessing you forgot the light armour) and all the Dryads should be at 288pts.
So overall your only 9pts over which normally I would'nt really be comfortable about but seeing as its only a friendly game and finding 9pts to drop in your list would be hard I'll let you off.

Secondly I have setup the dicelog. If you haven't used one before you must firstly validate the email address you gave me. Once you have done this click the link emailed to you (ignore all safety warnings, the site is secure). Then everytime you wish to roll simply go to join existing dice log and enter you email and email password.

I pm you'd the rules for my magic items and also the rules for the Earthshaker just incase your unfamilair with it. Im sorry about the magic weapon on the Lord as its really really good against Wood Elves but as I only have 10 magic items to choose from and thats really the only valid one to put on him and I would use it against every army not just yours.

Anyway table sides with reroll (all done in dice log)....
1d6
1: 2
2: 2
And roll on the Lore of Fire for my Sorcerer....
1d6
3
Burning Head which I'll swap for Fireball.

Okay,
thanks about the extra points,
and the rules for the lord's magic item seem fine, and it's only a friendly game, as you said. Anyhow, roll for sides:
roll for sides
1d6
1: 5
2: 1
so I'll take the one with the hill in the deployment zone.
and spells:
spellsinger's spell
1d6
4
so that's the twilight host.
Kind Regards,
C

Not sure why those Glade Guard are so small. Could I please get you to correct the size. I would do it myself for you but I'd then have to replace the wood and I wouldn't be able to get it exact.

Also what time do you usually get on as I'll try to get on at the same time so we can speed up deployment.

Well, I'm rather busy at the moment, as I have a major debate competition coming up, but as a rule I'll be on from 4:00 to 8:00 GMT
Also, to speed up deployment, we could deploy 2 units per turn.
Kind Regards,

Not sure what has happened and in all my games I have never come across this before. For some reason the map is making all my unit templates (which are the correct size tiny). As you have encountered the same problem I'm going to assume its from your end, what photo uploader are you using and where are you getting your templates from? Can I suggest you downlaod gimp (the program I'm using) it makes position of units so much easier. It also maybe because your uploading the picture as a attachments as the ones previous didn't have this problem.

Just a reminded again to save files as PNG as I have notivced the quality is suffering so I touched up the map and my troops and tidyed your Dryads (may want to just reajust them a little).

Okay,
Internet came on early.
As per your previous question, I am using the templates from the thread stickied at the top of the WFO forum. Due to the fact that mac is incompatible with MS paint, I am using Powerpoint to crop the units out of the templates, and then recolouring them. I am also using photobucket to upload my pics. I used the attachments when my internet started to slow down, but now that it is up and running again, I sould be able to use photobucket again. Also, I am unwilling to download gimp because it wrecked my last computer.
Anyhow, 2xtreekin:

Not to worry friend, I know just how hard it is to work with Mac's when trying to configure stuff from PC's. I can only imagine that is the cause of the decrease in quality since we are both saving as PNG.

Anyway here is my another Choas Dwarf block and some Black Orcs...
