Thanks for pointing out the Hatred - I'd completely forgotten about it!

2+ AS:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 2 = 6
Both saved, so the Knights will pursue
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 6 + 1 = 10
Caught indeed

I must admit, that was more than a bit fortunate. I threw caution to the wind charging in like that, so I'm glad it paid off :P

Funny, cause I had planned for just that to happen! (Not as plan A of course, which obviously was to shoot them.) ;) I'll be back with my moves tomorrow.

Ok, this is it then. Turn 5 isn't the best turn for a multi charge, but I'll try to make up for that with quantity! :sexy:

Herohammertime:
Arawn charge the Red Crossbowmen
Sayolon does the same

Reaction?

Ganging up on the Red Pikemen:
Green Glade riders
Yellow Glade riders
Wild riders
Grey Dryads
Wardancers

Running the danger of everyone getting in each others way, but you have indeed avoided a more controlled approach. :p
Reaction and 3(?) fear checks?

And perhaps a little surprise:
Yellow Glade guard charge Yellow Pikemen
Reaction? :D

Now that is a surprise :confused:

Anyway, the red Crossbowmen will S&S against Arawn:
hitting on 6s for long range and charging enemy wrote:Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

2 hits
wounding on 3s wrote:Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 wound at -1AS

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fear tests for the Pikemen:
Rolling "2d6" 3 times
1: 3 + 6 = 9
2: 4 + 1 = 5
3: 6 + 2 = 8
Every single one of them passed, thanks to Alessandro :D
Hey, they might actually hold a round... ;)
Beithir Seun wrote:Anyway, the red Crossbowmen will S&S against Arawn:
The way I read BRB, you can only stand and shoot if All the chargers are outside half their charge ranges. Sayolon is inside, and that is what I based my charges on. But at the moment she is 149 pixels from the Yellow X-bows... :( So don't worry, either way you'll get a good shot at my general, due to a stupid, but heroic mistake! :D
Just in case I happen to be wrong:
Armour save at -1 wrote:Result of the throw of dice "1d6 >= 4" :
5 = 5 ... success
Doesn't really matter then. :smirk:
Here are the moves then:
Image
My only chance to "reliably" break that big unit was to throw absolutely everything I could at it. Now, depending on how the combat goes, that could leave me pretty vulnerable afterwards, so the Yellow GG got sent in to hopefully occupy your general's unit for your last turn...
The Yellow GG's charge is IMO a case of "just inside", they wheeled 3,2", then moved forward 6,8", getting there with a few pixels margin. If this and the other moves look ok to you, I'll get on with magic and missiles.
Ok. I'll fix that in a map later. Now I want to have fun, Shooting:
9 Green GG and 2 WW at long range at knights:
2 last hit on 3's wrote:Result of the throw of dice "11d6 >= 4" :
2 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 4 + 6 + 6 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 6
Woops, sorry 'bout that. :confused:
2 S3 and 6S4 wounds to save for your Knights.
That was all the shooting, actually. Time for Close combat: :D
I'll start with the big mob fight:
Vs Rank'n'file, Dryads and Wardancers, who perform Storm of blades:
6+4 attacks wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 10 times
1: 3 = 3 ... success
2: 6 = 6 ... success
3: 4 = 4 ... success
4: 2 = 2 ... failure
5: 4 = 4 ... success
6: 5 = 5 ... success
7: 3 = 3 ... success
Good start... 5 wounds at r'n'f.
Vs Rank'n'file, Green GR:
3 Riders wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 3 times
1: 6 = 6 ... success
2: 2 = 2 ... failure
3: 6 = 6 ... success
3: 2 = 2 ... failure
Hiya, Silver wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4"
:D So 2 S4 and 1 S3 wound on the left flank.
Vs Il Capitane, the 2 WR:
2 Riders, then 2 horses wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 4 times
1: 1 = 1 ... failure
2: 5 = 5 ... success
3: 4 = 4 ... success
4: 1 = 1 ... failure
1 of each...
Rider to wound, S5 vs T4 wrote:Result of the throw of dice "1d6 >= 3" :
1 = 1 ... failure
Bummer.
Bite his nose off, Silver wrote:Result of the throw of dice "1d6 >= 5" :
Nada.
One GR at Il Capitane, also:
1 rider, 1 horse wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 2 times
1: 6 = 6 ... success
2: 1 = 1 ... failure
1 S4 hit wrote:Result of the throw of dice "1d6 >= 4" :
6 = 6 ... success
One S4 wound on the Captain
Finally, the rest of the GR at Rank'n'file:
4 riders wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 4 times
1: 3 = 3 ... success
2: 3 = 3 ... success
3: 5 = 5 ... success
4: 5 = 5 ... success
1: 4 = 4 ... success
2: 1 = 1 ... failure
3: 5 = 5 ... success
4: 5 = 5 ... success
Almost! Horses, then:
4 horses wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 4 times
1: 4 = 4 ... success
2: 5 = 5 ... success
3: 2 = 2 ... failure
4: 2 = 2 ... failure
Apples and carrots for life wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 2 times
1: 1 = 1 ... failure
2: 1 = 1 ... failure
The elven steeds are incorruptable! :D
Summary:
Shooting: 2 S3 + 6 S4 wounds to save for your Knights.
Close combat, Red Pikemen:
5 S4 wounds to the front vs rank'n'file
2 S4 + 1 S3 wound to left flank r'n'f
3 S4 wounds to right flank r'n'f
1 S4 wound on Captain
That's just not good enough for 'snake eyes'. Looking forward to your saves and return attacks. ;) Btw, when we get there, how many GG get to attack Alessandro's men, 5 or 7?
Saves for the Knights
1+ AS:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :
6 + 2 = 8
Both saved
2+ AS:
Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :
5 + 6 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 5 = 26
Wow, that plate armour is good! Sorry about that :o
Captain - 2+ AS:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :
4 = 4
Saved
5 front Pikemen - 6+ AS:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :
6 + 2 + 6 + 5 + 3 = 22
2 saved
Right flank Pikemen 6+ AS:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :
4 + 5 + 2 = 11
3 dead
Left flank 6+ AS:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :
6 + 6 = 12
:o
5+ AS:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :
3 = 3
1 dead there
1 left flank Pikemen dead
3 right flank Pikemen dead
3 front rank Pikemen dead
That leaves me with the champion attacking back to the front, 3 Pikemen on the left, 2 Pikemen and the Captain on the right
I'll do my attacks in a bit
As for the GG combat, you will get 7 attacking (basically, the Pikemen "fill out" the back rank, so it's exactly the same as a frontal charge in terms of contact)
11 attacks, 7 wounds?! :crazy: Gaawd... If anything, it's good for the game, I suppose. :p
I have flank, outnumber, banner and warbanner, for 4, both have 7 wounds
You have banner and BSB?
At least it's a break test, for what it's worth.
Since nothing is likely to happen there, I'll seek vengeance with the Yellow GG (*manic laughter*):
7 deadly attacks wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 7 times
2: 1 = 1 ... failure
3: 3 = 3 ... failure
4: 3 = 3 ... failure
5: 4 = 4 ... success
2 wounds for you to save...
That was so crappy, some good rolls have to be around the corner, I'll just go on. Arawn and Sayolon vs Xbows:
4 att. from Arawn wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 4 times
I think that means it's a draw - you have 2 wounds and Rear; I have 2 wounds, outnumber and banner. We both have musicians
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Regardless, both the Crossbowmen and yellow Pikemen are Stubborn thanks to the Banner of Myrmidia

Arawn's save, then:

Now, then, Arawn will pursue, I have no control over her: ;)
Distance wrote:Result of the throw of dice "3d6 >= 11" :

Sayolon, I will attempt to restrain:
Don't fail me now wrote:Result of the throw of dice "2d6 <= 9" :

2 + 5 = 7 ... success
He stays put.

But honestly, that big fight went worse than I had planned for (bad planning). In retrospect I should have kept the Yellow GR in reserve, instead of getting both units butchered at the same time. And maybe WR as well. Lesson learned.

OK

Rallied

Brigands flee:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

5 + 3 = 8
8" and off the table

Here are my moves then:

Image

Red Crossbows reform, Alessandro and the yellow Pikemen champion move to the fighting rank against the Glade Guard, and the knights bravely run away :D

No magic

Shooting

The yellow Crossbowmen will shoot at Arawn - 7 can see:
hitting on 4s wrote:Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

5 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 6 = 28

Combat

Starting with the Glade Guard combat, Alessandro strikes first:
hitting on 3s wrote:Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

3 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 21
Nice :D
wounding on 2s wrote:Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

Only 2 wounds though :smirk:

That leaves you 5 Glade Guard to strike back before the Pikemen

In the other combat, you strike first with everything.

My bad for rushing things above, but don't you want to attack with the pikemen first? ;)

Thank you! Started badly, I got the message that soundcheck was cancelled when I was already aboard the city train. :roll:

Oops! Thanks once again for pointing that out :D I will gladly slaughter more squishy elves to try and gain some points from this game :P

Champion and 3 Pikemen at the Glade Guard then:
hitting on 4s wrote:Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

4 + 4 + 2 + 3 + 6 = 19
3 hits
wounding on 4s wrote:Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 2 + 3 = 8
............

So the Glade Guard still lose by 2 :P

No soundcheck? So you're just going to turn up on stage and see how it goes? :D

Ha-ha, fooled Hamete, there. They stand their ground to be killed next round! ;)

Basically, yes. Being an outdoor festival that isn't too pretentious, we take five minutes simplified SC before we start. I'm used to it...

Time for the big fight then.

First is one wild rider at the captain:
2 attacks wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 2 times

1: 4 = 4 ... success
2: 2 = 2 ... failure
1 S4 hit wrote:Result of the throw of dice "1d6 >= 4" :

6 = 6 ... success
One S4 wound on the Captain. If it is still alive, the horse will attack after the Captain.

Then, I'm not sure which one of your command models is the Champion, but it seems I can direct 2 attacks from a Dryad at wherever he is:
2 Ws4 att wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 2 times

1: 4 = 4 ... success
2: 2 = 2 ... failure
1 S4 hit wrote:Result of the throw of dice "1d6 >= 3" :

5 = 5 ... success
One S4 wound on Champion

The remaining Dryad and WR at rank'n'file (two last dice for the horse) :
4 att hitting on 3's, 2 on 4's wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 6 times

1: 3 = 3 ... success
2: 2 = 2 ... failure
3: 2 = 2 ... failure
4: 4 = 4 ... success
5: 3 = 3 ... ed: failure
6: 6 = 6 ... success
2 S4 and 1 S3 hit wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 3 times

1: 1 = 1 ... failure
2: 6 = 6 ... success
3: 2 = 2 ... failure
One S4 wound on r'n'f

Some important rolls now, Green GR:
Riders to hit wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 3 times

1: 3 = 3 ... success
2: 2 = 2 ... failure
3: 4 = 4 ... success
2 hits wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 2 times

1: 6 = 6 ... success
2: 1 = 1 ... failure
One wound from riders
Horses to hit wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 3 times

1: 5 = 5 ... success
2: 4 = 4 ... success
3: 3 = 3 ... failure
2 hits wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 2 times

1: 5 = 5 ... success
2: 4 = 4 ... success
Heavy horses! :D (Great Jethro Tull album, by the way...) Two wounds from horses.

And I almost forgot about the Wardancers, who actually perform Whirling death (KB):
4 attacks wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 3" 4 times

1: 5 = 5 ... success
2: 3 = 3 ... success
3: 3 = 3 ... success
4: 1 = 1 ... failure
3 S3 hits with KB wrote:Rolling "1d6 >= 4" 3 times

1: 4 = 4 ... success
2: 1 = 1 ... failure
3: 4 = 4 ... success
Sorry 'bout that, two more wounds.

And finally, the lone Yellow GR at r'n'f:
Rider to hit wrote:Result of the throw of dice "1d6 >= 4" :

3 = 3 ... failure
Horse to hit wrote:Result of the throw of dice "1d6 >= 4" :

1 = 1 ... failure
Nada.

Summary of 'the Big Fight':
1 S4 wound on Il Capitane
1 S4 wound on Champ
1 S4 + 2 S3 wounds to the front rank
3 S3 wounds to the 'left' flank

Looking over the results, this could have gone a lot worse. :smirk:
