The Map

The colours represent general terrain type.

Dark green - Forest (wood elf)
Light green = Civilized and cultivated lands (empire)
Grey - Hills and mountains (dwarf)
Purple - Chaos wastes (chaos)
Red - Badlands (O&G)

The Border Princes are human lands. Every vaguely human warband. including Dwarfs, Possessed, Carnival of Chaos, and Undead will start with Neutral alignment as far as the inhabitants of the Border Princes are concerned. Your actions will determine how your alignment changes and how you are treated in encounters as your reputation precedes you. Possessed, Carnival of Chaos, and Undead, are likely to veer off into Evil very quickly, and Dwarfs, as outsiders, are unlikely to get to Good. Vigorous purges by Witch Hunters and Sisters of Sigmar can get them Evil very quickly too, but protecting the innocent and defending the righteous can just as quickly move them to Good.

Warbands that start Evil are Beastmen, Orcs & Goblins, and Skaven. Nothing they can do will change this.

I don't know where we'll be playing yet, it depends on the number and nature of the warbands. Each Warband will have a specific 'Quest' and I'd like some RPG-like stuff for your Warband Leader, just to weave a narrative.

OK.

Time for you to start posting your starting point.

If you are Human, or Dwarf (all of the Neutral Warbands), it must be on one of the wide black lines (major road), and in a Town no more than 2 areas in from the edge of the map, such as Argalis or Vardanos, Munzig or Styratia.

Beastmen must start in any area adjacent to Zenres. (23)
O&G must start in any area adjacent to Zenres. (23)
Skaven can start in any town.

Each time you move into a new area, or chose instead to explore an area, I will roll for an encounter. If multiple warbands are in the same area, then the encounter is very likely to be with them.

You can, instead, hide in an area to regroup or heal. Time will pass, but you will not encounter anything.

After each encounter, you may discover information, rumours, or 'quests'. that you can choose (or not choose) to follow.

Only during encounters can you find Treasure or earn Experience.
Human and Skaven warbands can hire new members in any town.
Orcs and beastmen will have to look for new warband members in the countryside.

Keep this in mind as you plan you movements.

I will play the locals, although others not in the campaign are welcome to offer assistance.

I will not permit warbands to 'ally' against others.

I'd like to claim Munzig as my starting point please. That's where my Kislevites arrived in the Border Princes, and they've been enjoying themselves so far :D Although the vodka's not so cheap here <.<

Multiple warbands can start in the same town btw.

It becomes a 'strategical' decision. If you start with another warband, you are very likely to get better treasure and better experience opportunities.

If you start alone, you will be able to beat up locals. You will gain experience less quickly and find no/less/worse Treasure.

t12161991, RAI, Kasos is not a city on a major road within two areas of the edge of the map. RAW, it is, but this map has no 'edge to the south. You are supposed to have walked onto the map by road from off the map.

TGA, again, I meant to specify NOT in a town.

Rules mods. I will extend this post as additional situations arise.

Moving through Ground Floor windows.

a. a. It will take one move to move from inside, within 1" adjacent to the window to outside, adjacent to the window, in contact. You cannot move into combat this way.

b. Alternatively, you can try to jump through the window. This is a normal move that will end with you on the otherside of the window and adjacent to it. You will need to pass an Initiative test, as if jumping down, or roll on the Injury table at -1. This will also make a lot of noise.

c. A warrior that jumps through a window to enter combat always strikes last, no matter what special rules or magic they may have.

Is it too late to join? Looks interesting, fun and well run ( :thumbsup: ArchMagosAlchemys). A warning though, i've never played Mordhiem, it hadn't been written yet when i started my break from the hobby, so i'd be a bit of a newbie.

Anyone can join at any time. The rules are available on-line from GW's specialist games as pdfs. Most of us can send you a copy too.

You can also learn by looking at games in progress and by playing some of the NPC warbands that face the campaign warbands.

Anyone who has constructive suggestions about campaign improvement or scenarios, feel free to make them. Remember that most of these are player warbands vs NPC. Things get different when the player warbands interact.
