Nice colours, done up as a unit they will look great!

Why not put bullrushes on the bases for that realy swompy feel? Maybe a bit time consuming tho :)

It's always best to paint your minis in bits, and then assemble them later.

BTW, I can't imagine bullrushes on the bases, however I can on scenary.

I remember seeing a Lizardmen Saurus regiment modelled as if they were emerging from a swamp.
The first rank were normal fully-emerged warriors, the second rank's feet were beneath the swamp, the third rank were waist high, the forth etc etc...

It wouldnt work the same with Woodies, but a friend of mine was gonna model a unit with a tree in the middle, with the elves decending from the branches...

---

If I find a pic of the saraus regiment, I'll post it ;)

That half of that body is certainly 10 times better than my color schemes.... Keep up the good work!

:) Bullrushes - Pipe-cleaner with greenstuff molded on top with card stems clustered around the bottom - easy as ;) That or plastic mock-ups like the ones used for fish-tanks and the one's that GW produced for Lustria, but you should be able to get them cheaper than GW prices elsewhere :)

Ps Dont make them to big or it will look silly, about waist hight is good

Whoa that saurus regiment rocks, i really got to do that with some of my orcs or something.

Maybe i should get my 'squirrel swarms' done :P
(it's like a tree with zillions of tiny squirrels in)

what are card stems? Take a sloter base and drill a hole thru the top with a compass, put the end of the pipe cleaner (that you have taken the plastic off) into the hole and move it to the height you wont, then secure the end under the sloter. Take a piece of stiff card and cut the stems/leaves out of it leaving a tap on the bottom and then just stick them down around the base of the central stem (the one that sould look like a hotdog ;)) going outwards like a star. The flock or static grass etc should cover the taps, and then you could do things like puting the spite from the box on top of the central stem? Or bend some of the card leaves in the middle?

Well, hats off to Dooppie - the Saurus look really cool ...

I don't model much on my bases.
All my bases get the same Grass-coat as my table, so that they fit on it, when I play.
Built that myself by the way. Two 2m x 0,65m big wooden plates, "Grass Paper" (? Sorry, my bad english ...) glued onto it and fixed at the edges with Aluminium Borders. They have corresponding Holes at their meeting side and can be fixed together with Iron pins and screws for which I have inserted Threads.
With these Dimensions I can put the 2 Plates in my car ant take them to conventions ... :)

I do like that regement Doopie, it's a good idea :)

BTW, bullrushes could be done by just using a bit of wire and some greenstuff (it was done in a WD once).

This is a nice as well:

Get a slotta base as wide as your unit wide GG. I look like 2 horse bases stuck together... I once saw a Battle Report with Brettonian Bowmen had blockades in front of them modelled on a thinner base... It actually coste points and did damage as well.

Make bushes on the slim base. Make them high (higher than the model), but make open gaps into the bushes. Then model the models so that they just peek out through small gaps of the bushes, bow pointing straight forward or anything you like. Then model the other models normally... Dead easy.... but a bit of fun...

Another idea is to make a big tree in the middle of a big base as big as all those GG models' bases. Then model all the Gg around, on, just on the side, kneeling and that stuff around the tree.

Cheers,
-Q

I like it....this is one of the best colour themes I every seen.
The bow is blue...maybee brown could be nicer?

by Highborn Sycath
the bow is tea cause i had to balance the color,s, and the teal was the least used color.

It looks good, I especially like the couldr of the cloak because I love WE with light cloths, I would advise everyone to paint theirs with light colours beceuse they rock, yours is an example Warmaster.

Blue is better. This is indeed best colour scheme I've seen so far ^_^
