And now... time for a CHRISTMAS UPDATE!!! <3

Enter more green supersoldiers of Mt Cliffmoss! (no elvsies this time I'm afraid <_<)

The pics aren’t as good as those of the last buncha updates, because of rather poor lightning and because I couldnt figure out how to get a deep field of focus without my technical genius of a dad. I removed the yellowish tint in photoshop though.

Image
So these are the latest additions to my little fledgling force. I’ve still got a bunch of more goblins before my first unit is done I’m afraid. I decided I want a big unit of 42 speargobbos : D I might take a break from the rank and file and paint the skiing gobbo(s) though.

And someone asked for a group shot of all the gobbos I’d finished so far. Well here are two.
Image
Image
What do you think? I think they look great together : )

And to finish off; a couple of pictures of my WIP artillery:
Image

Image
The pics aren’t the greatest, but if you look closely you’ll see that the metal is highlighted pretty well (for being my models at least) and that I’ve painted some primitive wood ... grain? on the barrel and the chest. I wonder if I should paint the wood of the warmachines like that or leave it black. The black should look good against the averlander colour scheme, and it gives a good contrast to the metal parts of the machines. But wood grain looks very good too. At least if you’re good at it, which I’m not I’m afraid. Hmmm I wonder what to do... : P

Oh well that’s all for now. I’ll try to update not so far into the future.
A merry christmas to you all!

What can i say? Genius!

Strangely enough, purple adds greater depth to gold than brown (as long as it's not too much...then you have a problem), and both weather it very nicely indeed.

Happy Holidays to all

Thanks everyone!
And speedygoat: I use GWs snow powder and just glue it onto the base in two layers with pva glue.

Well people. It's time for another update : D With loads and loads of pictures! (no asrai this time though : S sorry!)

Firstly. For all you christmas gobbo lovers out there ... I've painted the skiing gobbo ^^

Image

Secondly I have made a couple of movement trays from GW's new-ish kit. It's pretty good, although I think you could have gotten more corner bits.

Image

Next up are two conversions for my Empire army and for Mordheim. It's a Beasts Wizard who could be used as a Warlock in mordheim, and a captain that I'll probably use when I play mercenaries in Mordheim.
I'm very pleased with the conversions : )

Image

And lastly the cutest cellphone ... ornaments? jewelry? ever! (I did NOT paint them but since people post pics of their pets then I might as well post a pic of these little kitties ^^)

Image

I also have my finished Empire mortar and great cannon.
I am very happy with how the artillery turned out.

These pics are a bit dark so you might not be able to see every single highlight on the black. But I promise ... I've highlighted all the black areas ; ) (I think : P)

Well here's the great cannon:

And a couple of pics from other angles:

And here is the mortar:

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l224/ ... ortar4.jpg

Well that is all for now. I have assembled a whole load of empire troops which I have not taken pictures of. I hope you will enjoy the update : )

Great work as always Anardakil! You're artillery turned out really nicely, and your Empire conversions look great! Your Christmas Goblins continue to keep me amazed as well :D

What projects have you got planned at the moment? And when can we expect more pics? :D

The Mordheim conversions are very dark... ;)

The skiing Gobbo is, again, masterwork! Is there a unit of them to follow?

Your great cannon crew has some...issues  . First off, the fire that the dude is holding is highlighted a touch wrong. In the deepest creases should be a light yellow, not a dark red. Remember that highlighting fire is counter-intuitive...

And when i first saw the monkey, i was impressed, but i thought he was on fire... Much to my disappointment, i found out that it was a feather...Perhaps change its colour to avoid misinterpretation?

Otherwise, the metals on the cannon and mortar are pure class and the crew shows a lot of character.
I'm eager to see more updates!

Thank you everyone : )

Ryikko ... I fixed the issues with the fire. They look ok now I think.

So here's another update (again without elves : S I really have to paint some leves for next update  )

So here's my Mercenary Captain for leading my brave(ish) Averlanders into Mordheim!
Image
I am very happy with how he turned out : ) I really don't like painting metals so I am very proud of that sword because I think it looks really good.

Next on line are a witch hunter and a captured farmer:
Image
That I have painted this captured farmer does not mean that I am going to paint my giant in the near future. It will be used for a conversion in my Empire army, as you will come to see eventually ; )
I find painting torches to be kinda hard but otherwise I like the witch hunter. And well the farmer was fun to paint ^^

The following two mercenaries were already painted (except fore some parts on them that I exchanged for new ones) so they aren't top notch but they'll do : )

And lastly there's this conversion I recently made:
Image
I'm really happy with it.

!!! If anyone wants to see close-ups of any of the miniatures then just ask :) !!!

Well that's all for now. I promise I will update in july too : )
AND I will soon start a project log for my Black Legion ; D

Oh and here's a picture of me from when I was a model in a fahsion show at a small festival in Stockholm :)

Great stuff as always!!! It's been so long, I almost thought you'd forgotten about us :tear:

The Empire stuff is fantastic but I think my favourite has to be the Mercenary Captain - you say you don't like painting metal models but you've done an amazing job! How much more stuff do you have for your Empire army? Have you made any progress with your Gobbos? :sexy:

And your picture is very pretty :) How did you get involved in modelling?

Mordheim is a Warhammer Fantasy Skirmish game, using a warband of a certain type (there are about 15 official warbands, with several 'unofficial' ones). It's set in the Empire city of Mordheim (hence the name) which was hit by a Warpstone meteor and destroyed, drawing adventurers to it for various reasons.

Those are some great minis. The conversion work is great and I love your blacks. All of the minis are really clean and crisp. The photos are nice too. What setup are you using to take the photos?

@Sephiroth - you can get the rules for Mordheim off of the specialist games website http://www.specialist-games.com/mordheim/default.asp if you want to find out more.

And I thought I was bad with updates :D ;)

As usual, more astounding stuff coming off of Anardakil's workbench!
I particularly like the Averlander captain. And indeed the sword (along with all the other metals) looks great, and well worn to boot.

The fire looks much better than the cannon crew's. Glad to see you've got the technique down now. The Witch Hunter and the farmer also look great too.

The dog handler conversion looks promising too. Eager to see it finished. What material did you use for the leash?

Hopefully the next update'll come sooner ;)

Thanks for the feedback everyone : )

The leash for the doggie is made of sewing thread.

I take the pictures in my family's dining room with a bunch of tall windows in front of the minis and I take the pics with my dad's über expensive camera.

I've nog given my wood elves that much attention for a while... kinda no attention at all in fact. But that is about to change - as you will see soon.

Here are two models I forgot to post : P They've been finished for a long time.
So here's an Amber (Beasts) Wizard I've made. I think he turned out really nice. Maybe the colour scheme could have been more "amber-ish" but hey ho. ^^

Image

And my converted dog-handler :)

Image

I've painted my lovely boydriend's Chaos sorcerer for him. Warriors of Chaos is his main army. He asked me to paint him so that he looks Slaaneshi but at the same time rather Tzeentch-y in case he wants to try the lore of Tzeentch. I therefore painted the sorcerer and his little familiar in purple and dark blue.
The pics aren't as good as they could have been. This is due to the extremely cloudy and dark weather. I could have used some more sunlight. But the pics are still rather good in my opinion.

Image
Image
Image
Image

So what do you think? : )

Next up are some work in progress pics of my Treewoman Ancient. I still have to finish her right hand, sculpt some mushrooms on the bark in some places and give her some branches.

Image

Details of her face. I didn't want to give her any facial features other than the mouth, but I made a "swirl" where one of the eyes would have been if she had eyes. This gives you something to focus on : )

Image
Image
Image
Image

She is pretty darn big. She almost doesn't fit on the monster base.

Tune in tomorrow for some christmas gobbo goodness!

Christmas Gobbos is a work of genius.

The treeman looks great, it certainly has more of a lumbering, tree-like look than the GW one. The GW treeman doesnt even look like a tree.

As i said, you are super talented

OMG just getting started with my Wood Elves but your work is so good it's scary. Your dryads are awesome all most went in the same direction colour wise but wanting some burned trees the greys and blacks were taken.

The Treewomen looks great as well, very special not my taste but great sculpting work non the less :).

Good luck on the rest on the army.

It seems soooooo long since I've seen any Christmas Gobbos, I'm looking forward to tomorrow (or rather, later today as it's now nearly 2am :smirk: ) almost as much as Christmas Eve :D

The work you've done so far on the Tree Woman is fantastic, and looks really promising. Can't wait to see it finished! The wizard is also another example of stunning work. Great stuff :)

Thanks Calinleafshade :) No I really don't like GWs Treeman so I sculpted my own. She's not finished yet but I still feel I want to do a second one : D

Hehe thanks Jayz ^^ Well my design is kinda special so I guess not everyone will like her : )

Thanks Beithir Seun. Yeah seems like it was ages since I posted some but well today I bring a few more : ) I'm glad you like the wizard and treewoman.

What do you people think about the Chaos Sorcerer? Not the best pics I know but still.

Well I promised you christmas gobbos! I've painted five of them for this christmas and I might paint some more later this winter : )
THe pictures didn't turn out that well I'm afraid : (

Image
Image
(Wonder why that Santa fella is in the picture? Well it's my dad's fault. :P He insisted on him being there.)

And a size comparison between someone huge and some little people.

I might take some group shot pictures of all the xmas gobbos I have painted if you want me to.

Your models are stunning. The christmas goblins are both cute, original and well painted. They are my favorites actually. :) The empire models are flawlessly painted. Very smooth.

And I like how your treewoman has the swirls found on dryads and other wood elf parafernalia.

If your boyfriend is into warhammer, then he must feel like the king of the hill, having you as a girlfriend.

Thanks Zardan :) I'm glad to hear that.

Yeah I felt the swirls were a nice touch and I needed some details to break up all the large, barky areas. I'm thinking of painting them in a warm, golden, brownish yellow to contrast with the grey bark.

Hehe yeah maybe ^^. I wish more girls would join the hobby.

It's time for an update again. I finished the treewoman between christmas and new years eve.
I've added branches to her back, fungi to one of her hips and one of her thighs and some spites to her back and her base.
The fungi looks better IRL. The miniature is much bigger IRL than on the pictures (as you can see in the size comparison with the gobbos) and you can't really see what the fungi looks like that well. All of the "swirls" in her bark don't show all that well either. But oh well. I'm very happy with how she turned out : ) And I celebrated by letting her massacre some dwarfs this weekend ^^

I have undercoated her black so now I just have to paint her XD
