From the Dark Paths and Dappled Glades
This is where I'm going to be posting my latest painting efforts. I'm a pretty slow painter so don't think it'll be update that frequently, but having said that I'm feeling pretty enthused by the return of the Tree Spirits in AoS (sacrilege!), something which had really disappointed me about the 8th edition book. So to start, here is my Treeman Ancient which I purchased as a pre-order when the new WE were released (told you I was a slow painter!)

Nice! Care to tell what products you used for basing?

There's various stuff on the base, the mushrooms are home made, very easy to do from green stuff, as are the croziers of the fern. The fern leaves and some of the static grass are GW products. The grass with the white flowers is from Army Painter. The tall brown grass and the larger pink flowers are from a plant I grow in my garden called Astrantia. I dry the flowers and break them apart into their constituent parts to use on the bases.

Beautiful, really one of the best I've seen and really makes me want to buy this model that otherwise I've not been totally keen on the aesthetics of.
The palette you've chosen works really well, simple yet really effective, I especially love the beard and other green growths.
The base is simply beautiful and I love the little spites colours.
Great work.

As I was saying on one of the other threads I've purposely gone for a more natural, limited palette. It was a lot of work tho. It may be a while before I take on such a big model again let alone two or three of them!

Very nice ancient, and a very very cool and interesting base. I'll steel some ideas from that one shurely

That item would be in every list.

Love this. The standard of work is impeccable. Look forward to more!
Re: From the Dark Paths and Dappled Glades
Thank you[emoji15] I played a game of AoS as Sylvaneth the other week and used dual branchwraiths. They were really rather good so I'm just painting up a couple of models to use. The first is Drycha the second is a old metal Dryad. They'll be next up on here :-)Gladelord Berenthor wrote:Love this. The standard of work is impeccable. Look forward to more!

I suppose it is one way to keep your treeman alive that I have not yet considered.
Paint him so beautifully that the opponent can't make himself to take him off the board.
