As noted, Elves are a little more feminine anyways so its not a major issue. To me that is lol

I laughed because I don't think there are male and female legs. Certainly male and female torsos and heads though.

Lol. Very true. I can see the difference between torsos for sure, but the legs are the same to me. I actually noticed the mix up half way through gluing. Instead of starting over I just went with it. As longs as I don't put tits on Orion, I'm good haha

In retrospect, the wardancers prove there isn't a difference between genders with the legs. Sorry to distract from your painting thread Yanchusart, I want to see what you do for waywatchers in this scheme. I've had to defend the honor of my glade girls against slanderous accusations in the past, and I want to spare you that fate. You gotta be careful... The mixed pieces within the kit immediately led to the phrase "tranny-elves" in my gaming circle.

No worries at all Nitro. I will just roll with it and keep it in mind as I go forward. Next up after the Glade Guard are the Glade Riders. Then Eternal Guard :)

Thanks Stonefish. In regards to the bases, I was thinking about trying some of GW's Stirland mud and drybushing. Adding some patches of grass, as well as some autumn foliage (leaf, sticks, etc)

I am going to be playing around with various materials and these are some of the ones I will be using; should be lots of fun to see what works well together.

This brings into the question the gender identity of many of my elves.

Looking great so far, look forward to seeing your colour scheme on the other models.
It's vibrant without being over the top, a nice take on the autumn theme.

Almost ready to do the bases on all of my Glade Guard (60+ models). Should be fun; can't wait to try all of my autumn basing materials. I am just finishing up the bows and all of the little details (laces, etc).I also can't wait to move onto my Glade Riders.

Finally ready to start basing these guys. Took a lot longer than anticipated but well worth the wait in my opinion. I really need to take photos with an actual camera instead of my cell phone but hey, works for now. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions- they are always appreciated.

The Glade Guard and bases are complete! I am excited to have finished them and also excited to move onto my Glade Riders.

For the bases, I used a mix of Autumn leaves and for the rocks, just painted ripped up pieces of cork.

Tried my hand at two horses for the Glade Riders today. These are 2 of 20 to be completed.

I didn't use a wash on either of the horse- I found that it gave too much contrast and they looked like they were on roids. I decided to build up lighter and lighter with various watered down layers.

As always, comments/criticism welcome!

To any of you who run Glade Riders, how many do you use and what do you kit them with? Do you run a command? And if so, what are the benfits of each? Thanks for the help.

The horses look really nice and natural. Only problem is the edge highlights on the saddle as highlighting everything wouldn't make sense when the rider is seated.

I agree that it can be difficult to use washes sometimes especially with light colors. It could be usefull to shade some areas with ink to make stronger contrast i.e. between the saddle and the horse.

Very true. Thanks for the advice Kaese. When I am using the wash between the saddle and horse, do I literally just apply it to that area? Should I do it before the highligts or after?

I think it is easiet to do after most of the model is done. Just add thin line of ink between the saddle and the horse. It can also be done to almost all the areas where you think there would be a gap between two surfaces. This also helps to mask any imperfect painting between two colors :D

I normally use ink washes after the base layer, so it basically does the same thing.

Another horse down. I have been pretty busy with work and going out so I haven't made a whole lot of progress. Hope I can get a few more down in the next day or so.
