Fabulous! I'm glad the privateer press stand worked for you. Your paint job is gorgeous. If you have any free time ;) , would you mind painting some warhawks for me? I don't think I could be half as good as that.

Congratulations on the family. Hopefully you are able to bring them home soon.

Nice. Looking in this forum makes me realize I'm such a bad painter (my eagles and Hawks are brown, then the last feathers white, the tips of the feathers black.. and then a black wash over it :D)

I just thought I'd add a few more pics of other models that I've managed to get done recently.

I like the old Forest Dragon model. Fantastic paint job.

What is the steed he's riding on? I don't recognize the mane/tail.

Very interesting scheme on the Forest Dragon. It's not as green as usual, but even more natural. The earthy colours are a great choice.

@Yuri: I think you're right. After looking at her all blown up like this, I'm going to repaint her skin and try to go back with a few smaller, lighter tattoos instead.

@Git: Thanks for the compliment! It's much appreciated!

Taking a second look at the Wardancer Noble, from the picture of the back, is it me or does the flesh on the leg look like it has a purplish cast to it?

I think it may just be the photo. There isn't any purple on the model except for the "spirit" at the bottom of the root she's standing on.

Okay. I repainted my Shadowdancer's skin and only added a few very small tats.

Unfortunately, you already glued the vine bit to the hand. I would try to do a hand swap with a dryad model to make a branchwraith.

If it were me, I would use the hand (without the vines) for one of my werewolf treekin, it's a great piece.

Unfortunately, there are no more Alter Kindred nobles in the new book. Otherwise if you wanted to get fancy, you could have an Alter Noble in mid-transformation which would be wicked cool.

I don't know if you play any chaos armies, but it would work really well for any number of projects if you had a Chaos army.

Werewolf Treekin? I'm not familiar with those. Do you have a link?

I just like the idea of mother-earth reaching up to grab an enemy of her kids. Or a Branch Nymph that transformed to something lethal to attack her foes.

If you want to have it grabbing something, see if you can get ahold of some smaller type model (LOTR Moria Goblins work really well, so do Ogre Gnoblars) and have it tangled up in the vines for a more dynamic model.

Werewolf Treekin:

http://www.asrai.org/download/file.php? ... &mode=view

The pic isn't the best, but it's my entry in the latest P&M contest. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how feasible it is to make them any more.

1 Rat Ogre (make sure you use the clawed hands not the skaven "mengele" sword-hands)
1 VC Dire Wolf head/tail.

Take a hobby knife and scrape off all the boils/blisters and skaven icons, a small bit of greenstuff to cover the piece in the middle of the back (the join is really bad) and to cover the neck where the Dire Wolf head sits and voila! I use them as Treekin and they look pretty decent.

I also use Stone Golems as Treekin on occasion.
1 box of Space Marine Assault Terminators

Give each terminator double power claws and cut off all the claw blades.
Use plastic glue to melt the vents on back of the Marines.
Fill in the head socket with greenstuff to shoulder height and then add a rock shaped bit of greenstuff on top of that.
Scrape or file off all the marine icons/symbols.
Give it 2 coats of roughcoat (textured spraypaint).
And voila!

Does anyone else have some ideas/sources that they've found on something from sets that work well on bases like on these two Warhawk Riders?

Some extra Dryad pieces (the back pieces especially) and the owls that come with the Dryad sprue can be used well together.
