May i suggest adding McFaranel's dragons http://www.spawn.com/features/dragons/berserker.html
Really great models that need only a little work to look wonderful, and are optimal warhammer size ;)

A few more models, this time from miniaturenland (aka dark sword):

http://www.miniaturenland.com/en/darksw ... /1380.html (dark elf,but could be painted to be a decent alter w. ahw I guess)

http://www.miniaturenland.com/en/darksw ... /1379.html (classic wood elf archer - decent mini for a GG hero character)

http://www.miniaturenland.com/en/darksw ... /1378.html (bow on the back and two short blades, dynamic running pose, wild hair... I think this is the third model of this kind I've seen come out recently - this one's female, though)

http://www.miniaturenland.com/en/darksw ... /1286.html (I guess it counts, so might as well include it)

http://www.miniaturenland.com/en/darksw ... /1191.html (the only recent model I can remember seeing of a spellweaver on eagle)

http://www.miniaturenland.com/en/darksw ... /1188.html (painted correctly, could be an eternal guard hero?)

And some from the old confrontation line - discontinued line, but the models are awesome (links from where I could find them):

Kaeliss the Silent: http://www.e-minis.net/product_info.php ... anguage=en

Maneos, warrior beetle: http://www.e-minis.net/product_info.php ... s_id=17326 (eternal kindred?)

Meari the protector: http://www.e-minis.net/product_info.php ... s_id=17704 (glamourweave)

Onental the smuggler: http://www.e-minis.net/product_info.php ... s_id=17990 (ahw noble, maybe wardancer if you can live with him wearing leather armor)

Shaenre the sentinel: http://www.e-minis.net/product_info.php ... s_id=16841 (spellweaver)

From Andrea:

ITHANDÏR, BLADE OF ETERNITY: http://www.andrea-miniatures.com/market ... talle=1156

AINARIEL. ARROW OF LIGHT : http://www.andrea-miniatures.com/market ... talle=1189

Raging heroes:

Syl-Irah (2 versions):
http://www.ragingheroes.com/collections ... ic-version
http://www.ragingheroes.com/collections ... ry-version

That's all for now - I'll remember more later I'm sure. :)

This is a great figure of an Elf Sorceress on a giant owl:

I am currently looking for a few alternative models, since I'm building my characters and "hq" (sorry, forgot the proper term for WHFB) through conversion or by getting awesome minis from alternative sources.

If anyone has recommendations for these, I'd love to hear it!

BSB, mounted, preferably with a "streaming" banner, but that can always be converted.
BSB, on foot, preferably in a "dynamic" pose if metal.

Waywatchers, which are dressed in cloaks and clothes with fur lining or at least "thicker" clothing, as opposed to the GW standard models.

Any and all bits/minis that can be used as wardancers, either out of the box or with kit-bashing. (These, for example, look extremely fun to work with for conversion, but I've never even seen the minis IRL, so does anyone know them?

And, of course, if anyone can recommend archer units that are preferably somewhat rag-tag (to be used as GG "militia of the forest" - think human hermits mixing with somewhat outcast wood elves and other forest-dwellers, called to battle in defence of their home, sort of thing), but doesn't come in at $6 per model (I'm looking at you, Reaper Minis!) I'd be eternally grateful. Does anyone know what the Mantic Games' Kingdom of the Elves minis are like?

I would like to add http://studiomcvey.highwire.com/product ... emissary-1 The Dark Emissary for Orion.
Probably, this isn´t the best for actually replacing orion, but think of converting the GW mini to sit on that horse! I mean, THE HORSE!!
That way, The leader of the wild hunt can actually lead the hunt and not just run along the sidelines...

It's a nice horse...but Orion on a horse?...er..No.

Might make a nice horse for a wild rider kindred highborn though! perhaps use a mandrake as a base for the model? add a spear and sword?

Looks like most of the elf on eagles models are not valid anymore. Anyone know of any new models. I have been searching but can't find anything out there.

What are you looking to spend? I just bought the CMON hero on a great eagle, and let me tell you, it is gorgeous, but expensive. As the model is out of stock you'll have to get it through ebay or some other site, here's a link to an ebay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CMON-CMN0055-Wo ... 20b54d77b8

Thanks. that looks pretty nice. I don't mind spending some money, but I was kind of looking at different options for weapons with the elves. Maybe something with a spear. I may just have to buy something and mod it.

Ordered some models from Red Box Games, they are too small for use with warhammer in my opinion (about 0,5 cm shorter then a normal archer) so watch out with ordering them.

*edit* They do look awesome though.

I thought I'd just add some of the models from Gaspez arts in particular the elfi silvaggi and silvania lines could be moddable.

I've got a handful of the of ones i thought i could add a weapon or two to use as wardancers. I was after something dynamic that doesn't look like they're practising for the pole vault.
They are slightly smaller than the GW wardancers but they're just about workable there.
