Hi,
I've just received my first Forge World miniatures! but I do have a problem.
As you know it's made from substance like plastic. and the spear from my Avatar (40k Eldar) is bent (it's long and it's tip is about 1" of crescent/bow shape). I've got absolutely no idea how to straighten it without breaking... I was thinkign about heating it and then pressing but I don't want to spoil miniature worth 60 Sterling...
Any ideas?
p.s. I have similar problem with canon that looks lika having an erection problem....

Re: problem with Forge World miniature
call them and complain... it is resin, and it warped... it is fixable by heating it with either water or a hairblower, but you risk damaging the model in the process... call them and demand a new one...

Re: problem with Forge World miniature
well, the problem is I'm in Poland and they are in Great Britain.... they don't have representative in Central Europe I believe
Thx for advice regarding heating.... I think I can risk the spear (it is only a part of the model) , if I destroy it I can take one from Eternal Guard or sth
anyone else with advice?

Careful heating should work. Experiment on some sprue or any bits you need to cut off first.

On Polish forum there was a suggestion of
1. using hot water
2. using Hair Dryer
What is your opinion?

Re: problem with Forge World miniature
hot water seems safer at first... if that fails, try air...
they dont have representatives anywhere... its forgeworld, dude! call them and they are most likely to send a new one, no questions asked...

Re: problem with Forge World miniature
never tried that and I don't want to waste time/nerves
I used boilling water, allowed it to cool down for a minute and put the spear tip in it for about 10 seconds. then ,within 3 second I thing, it was possible to change it's shape without it going back to previous position!
so boiling water worked (for a Scatter Laser as well )
thx!

Something that may be of interest to you Fikol: Salt dipping. I don't know whether it would work on resin (because resin is 'harder' than plastic) but I've seen this used to very good effect with plastic parts.

Re: problem with Forge World miniature
hello there fikol
i had a similar experience with forge world- very easy people to deal with
i contacted them by email - they emailed me back to send them my invoice number - this i did and recieved through the post about 1 week later a complete replacement model - with their appologies and they told me just to keep the original model for my trouble
so would probably be a good idea to try them
