He looks very nice! I like the freehand on the banner. The Wood Elvish runes(? symbols? I don't know.) look excellent!

Thank you :)
And yes, WE runes. The middle one is the rune of nobility; and on the edge there are the runes of eternity, wisdom, blood and skill at arms spaced out with the Loren rune :)

Unicorn's conversions (23rd Apr - few beasts)

Well, as I am slowly starting the new army(s) - Dawis and Beasts, I started with few conversions. For the Beasts, obviously, as there is not much to convert on that short kin of Dawi ;)

Anyway... The 1st one is just a simple muso, I was just testing on him how much the Gors legs are modular for another (now WIP) conversion - the crouching wizard...

The 2nd one is 1st of my (most probably) 4man wide beastlord/wargor squad. Heavy armor, shield and something what can be both 1-h or 2-h weapon:

Unicorn's conversions (28th Apr - few more beasts)

Well, few more beasty heroes done ;)

XHW weapon one, the one and only of it's kind ;)

And one with something what can be the Spear of Hunt, or simple 2HW ;)

Hope you like them, and more to come! ;)

Unicorn's conversions (Quickshade testing)

I just started to experimenting with the Quickshade in order to make my 2nd and 3rd armies quickly be painted (I love converting, but I hate painting; and I think the WEs will stay my only really carefully painted army forever ;) ). Just in case anyone of you is wondering how the results of this can looks like - this is it, this are my testing models:

This has come just in time for my experiments with Quickshade so thank you Uni :D Like you, I really dislike painting rank-and-file (which is why Wood Elves are such a good army - there's only ever 5-10 models in a unit  )

I've got a load of Night Goblins and Pikemen ready to shade, and your models have come out really well and look great!

Looking very good, Uni! I like the way you gave life to the metal with 'rust effect'. And the Beastman conversions are really cool. Rrrrr!! ;)
I think the variations of natural colours on the Beastman look much better than the red and yellow on the dwarf. From what I've seen dipped in RL, muted colours look much better than bright ones with Quickshade. Which shade did you use, btw? :)

Thanks to both of you, glad you like it! ;) It is damn quick, what is exactly what I am looking for... I like converting and playing with my minis, the "in the middle" painting part is just... bleh ;)

May I ask, what does everyone mean by quickshade? By the way, Uni, your conversions look pretty great! I love the undefinedness of the guys weapons! Still, I do love your WE's...

This entire thread has left me awed...

There are excellent painters and excellent modelers amongst us hobbyists, but an excellent artist like I've found here remains a true rarity.

Really creative!!! Your work inspires me a lot!
I am assembling and converting models, also trying to add some personal touch to every one of them.
I´ve been giving my GR and WD new hair (dreadlocks rules :smoke: ). Also putting my WW on the top of trees and other vegetation.
For my treeman I tried to create the strangle-roots effect on the base, looks nice!
I think every player should try to make their armies uniques somehow.
I do need to get a camera and share my stuff with you guys!
And again: great work! :)

Wow. love the conversion work and the colour scheme blends it all in really well.
What arms/weapons did you use for your champions in the WD units?
