Rule Clarification: Fury of Kurnous
Hey,
I hadn't played a game for quite some time but had a series of games lined up a week or two ago. I started to familiarise myself with the rules etc. leading up to them and I released that I think I had been misusing the "Fury of Kurnous" special rule on the Wild Riders.
I used to only use it for one round of combat, either the turn I was charged or the round after I charged. However, when I was checking the faqs etc I couldn't find any amendments for this rule. So in the last series of games I used it as "ANY" round of combat in which they didn't charge.
I found that it made a hell of a difference to them. I fielded 10 w/full command, a Wild Rider Kindred Noble (with Dawnspear) and they carried the Razor Standard. They were awesome. I couldn't believe the difference it made to them. I was also playing with amended house rules where all of my Asrai also had ASF.
So to break it down... "ANY" round of combat in which the unit with "Fury of Kurnous" special rule did not charge, they receive +1A (excluding the steeds). So Wild Riders get S5 on the charge (due to spears) then "all" subsequent rounds of combat they get +1A (at S4)!?
I hope that I didn't just cheat in a bunch of games?!
...Could somebody please clarify if that is correct.
Thanks very much

That sounds right to me, any round that they don't charge they have 2 attacks at strength 4, when they charge they have 1 s5 attack
Strength does not come from physical capacity, it comes from an indomitable will.

Re: Rule Clarification: Fury of Kurnous
Just to clarify again in "any turn" they do not charge they gain +1 attack in combat so with ASF and razor standard sometimes I'd park them in front of certain units and say..bring it...Hope you enjoy your +1 combat res...
How do we prove we exist? Maybe we don't...

Re: Rule Clarification: Fury of Kurnous
This is actually one of the strengths of Wild Riders as redirectors.
Throw some kind of buff (Flesh to Stone, Wyssan's) or hex on the horde (Curse of Anraheir), and then park them like this. Horde charges (or doesn't, which means it'll spend the turn reforming and moving past / around - great! do it again next round). Either they'll hold ...
... or they'll break ...
... but either way, the Treekin get in the flank, and your Wild Riders are still alive to rally and go redirect something else. And you've wittled down the Horde, way more than you would with an Eagle or Glade Riders.

Or they kill your wild riders to an elf and reforms to face your tree kin...

Yeah I usually try my best to get flesh to stone on my Wild Riders and Shield of Thorns on my Treekin and combo them that way.
Thanks for the tips ~gwh

Hey, I didn't say it was a risk-free strategy :-)CauCaSus wrote:Or they kill your wild riders to an elf and reforms to face your tree kin...

I have noticed that a lot of attachments no longer exists or are broken.. is this due to the server migration or what?godswearhats wrote:

Most probably, yes. The problem is that with the migration, all the attachments are still on the server but the image paths change and no longer lead to the images. We'll see what we can do about getting things back to normal...

I think this particular post is from the day we migrated which means the images probably didn't get copied.
