toughness tests and magical attack problem

I'm having a problem figuring out whether or not my Spellweaver can take the ward save from the item "Amerenthine Brooch". The item bestows a 3+ ward save, that can not be taken against magical attacks. Now, my main reason for taking this is because of an item called "Blood Statuette of Spite, which is a bound spell that requires an enemy character to take a toughness test. If failed, they lose a wound and must take another toughness test. This keeps going until you pass the test, or die. Now, being toughness 3, this is a big problem. In my opinion, spells, and any damage that goes with them, is considered magical. However, if the spell requires you to take a separate test, which results in something else, this should not be considered magical. I just want some opinions on this, and whether or not I can use the ward save.

I do not think you get a save for these types of attacks, even if you have a true ward save.

sorry, I should have clarified. The effect is this" if the model fails the toughness test, then the model loses a wound with no armor saves allowed" then it must keep repeating. The question is not whether or not I can take a ward save because of the spell, but rather does this wound count as a magical attack, in which case my item will not allow a ward save. So I'm still wondering if the wound is magical or not

The wound is caused by a spell. Therefore the ameranthine brooch will not work.

In 7th ed Bears Anger did not grant magical attacks. I am not sure about 8th ed, but I would read the BRB a fair bit before I said a blanket ruling as such.

It does not neither in 8th. But the wounds caused by Bear are not coming from magical source; only the stat improvements are magical. Unlike any "take sX hit", "make a Y test" or anything like that - this all are directly caused by magic.

The magic targets you, force you to take the test, and if you fail, the magic hurts you. Unlike with bear, where the magic targets someone completely else that you.
