Has the lethal shot being removed in the 8th edition set of rules?
Thanks

Still there in the Wood Elf book. Haven't seen a thing suggesting otherwise

How does the Eternal Kindred work now?

the errata says
Q. May a character from the Eternal Kindred take additional
armour or weapons and still benefit from the Eternal Guard fighting
style? (p68)
A. Yes.

does that mean i can use a great weapon and light armour and get both bonus?

Still hotly debated on this forum. Try to look in the "Enlightenment" section for some points and counter points :)

Original FAQ:
Q. Can you use the Moonstone of the Hidden Ways in the enemy
Movement phase or to teleport out of combat? (p64)
A. Yes to both questions.
Revised FAQ:
Page 64 – Moonstone of the Hidden Ways
Change “[…] the Move phase[…]” to “[…]his Movement
phase[…]”.

...

Q. Can you use the Moonstone of the Hidden Way to teleport out of
combat? (p64)
A. Yes.
So despite them actually saying, yes, you can use it during someone else's movement phase, you actually cannot... correct? It seems kind of wonky that they would go out of their way to say that steeds DONT grand fast cavalry and that Moonstone of the Hidden Way CAN be used in other peoples turns when that is the opposite of the truth.

Some of the FAQ answers (like the one on Eternal Kindreds mentioned above) are rather confusing, yes. But the Moonstone and Fast Cav answers are clear enough. The problem is that GW have changed their minds from one FAQ to the next, and in both of these cases it's not the first time either! Throw away the old FAQs and stick to the most recent, and you'll save yourself some headache. ;)

Q. What happens when a character with the Annoyance of Netlings
is in a challenge against a character that hits on a pre-set number or
automatically? (p61)
A. Roll a D6 in each Close Combat phase when this problem
arises, to decide which rule takes precedence.
So we get to roll a D6 if my Branchwraith with the Annoyance of Netlings is in challenge against Throgg and Throgg uses his auto-hit puke right?

Yes. For next time it's more a question for the pool of enlightenment though.

Effected by Mysterious Forests or not?

A couple friends of mine told me that Wood Elves no longer take any effects from mysterious forests (be they positive or negative) and were quite confident of this.
I've checked the rulebook and armybook FAQs and can find no reference to this.
Has there been an official ruling on this anywhere - and if so where?

In the FAQ the Forest walkers ability was changed to the Forest Strider ability. This means that they don't take Dangerous Terrain tests for forests but are otherwise effected unless i'm mistaken?

Thought so.
It's another kick in the nuts for an army that really ought to feel safe at home (in the trees).

Most players want to make every forest a mysterious forest (using nu rules to the max) which means that we have to be wary of them all.
D6 S4 hits will shred most small asrai units to the point of no purpose anymore.

Would be great to be able to run an effective avoidance, and pounce army again that worked. I keep trying to make the best of 8th ed, and find Woodies far more nteresting to play than my dwarves, but so repeatedly disappointing when i have to field what feels like a neutered list from what we had, with only a few units of any real use.

Yes... and it is another idiotic slap in the face. Apparently with all the things we need to know about... the only thing they felt important to add was the fact the BSB can't take a shield.

Better that the BRB FAQ. All important I learned from it is that LD test is NOT characteristic test anymore... Or that the GW staff is blasted with pretty good material...

I like the way you can use magic items and make dispel attempts with fleeing characters. Would that include the moonstone do you think?

By the logic of the FAQ, definitely yes.

What a useless faq. If they where to adress the BsB, it should be an amendment saying that he could use a shield, both mundane and magic like in every other army.
Sometimes it seems GW have forgotten that they have an army called wood elves...

How could they not adress the grey cloud that surrounds the EG kindred?

Totally useless....

My issue with it is that they are pulling our leg and insulting our intelligence. It is clear to me that they haven't done much of ANYTHING or even thought about rules which need clarification. Some lazy, worthless employee over there (or several) tasked with doing this job put it off to the last possible moment and then when already missing the deadline for December decided to throw together some Faq for each faction to make it look like they were working. The only real work they had done was on the basic rulebook and even there I'd suggest there wasn't very much. The result was:

1st Lazy, Worthless Employee: Ummmm what about the Wood Elves? Should we tackle any of these letters or calls we got?

2nd Lazy Employee: Hell no. Those are all hard questions and we haven't even thought about anything much less tested it. Ummm... we just need to put one thing in there so they don't think we forgot them.

1st Lazy, Worthless Employee: That sounds good. How about this, we clarify the BSB can't have a shield and go to the next book.

2nd Lazy, Employee: That is wicked brilliant mate.

Is there any chance GW is reading this thread? :D

Oh how I wish there were... but since that would actually attribute them more interest and pride in their product than I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.... probably not. If they actually took the time to read the various sites where the players discuss rules and problems, we would have seen answers to questions people were ACTUALLY asking. :) I don't recall anyone discussing the BSB and whether or not he could take a shield. Hell, who cares if he can one way or the other?

I agree and the wording was clear enough anyway: "nor may he use a shield" nothing about him being allowed to if a wizard has shouted at it for a few minutes.
