get rid of the noble and take driads or GG
get rid of eagles and take both of them :)

I am hopeless general and in battles 1000pt or more I am kicked more often than not but patrols are made for Woodies

Focus on cores and will be OK

What? You have to have at least one character to act as your general. And the HoDA Noble is amazing at this points level. I'd even call the HoDA overpowered here (yes, overpowered Wood Elves... ) because it can single-handedly wipe out a small unit or at least bring it down to manageable size (because units at 500 points are often 5-10 models). The GG and Dryads are good. I prefer 8-strong units of Dryads, but I can see 12 being a good combat block at this points level. The Eagles aren't really necessary for redirecting services or anything but I suppose they can be quite good at combat against small (missile) units. After all, they are just flying ogres, right? So, all in all, I'd say it's a pretty good list. My advice with the 25 spare points is to just invest in 2 more Glade Guard. Those shots mean quite a lot here.

Right. In patrol games I play you don't have to have any character and any champion can work as a general.

After firing HODA your noble becomes a nice vegetable cucumber you have to be carefull about. I don't taki him.

Noble w HoDA
10 GG with Musician (Noble goes here.)
10 GG
8 Dryads
1 Eagle

The Noble with the HoDA hits on a 2+ at long range with an average of 10.5 magical, S4 shots. Soften up your targets with shooting then polish them off with the Dryads/Eagle combo.
So it's no longer the BRB, now it's the DERB. (Digital Edition Rule Book) I am all in for 9th Age.

If I were playing in a similar game I would definitely use the same list that billthesurly provided above.

I would likely experiment with running a branch wraith as my sole character, probably with a Murder of Spites.

If you go for patrol games, you might as well play it "extreme-MSU".
The limit for infantry is a 3+ strong unit. There might be something to do here.
