Re: Poster's Pictures
Oh, I just coach a middle school team. But we're in the heart of US Field Hockey, Pennsylvania (Harrisburg to be precise). I wish there were state playoffs for middle school, cause I know that we're one of the strongest middle school programs out there. 12 years, and not a single losing season, losing season being more losses than wins. Though I think we haven't had more than 4 losses in a single season (I'll have to check the records). Sorry for bragging, but I'm proud of my girls.

Do you play the game yourself, Loki? Or are you their coach?

My mother saved a goal with her face when she played Field Hockey in school. Won the game, lost all her teeth.

My mother, while playing goalie, kicked the ball into a 6th grader's face, two years ago.

Totally random anecdote Nº1:
In High Shcool, in the half time of a football game, a friend of mine randomly kicked a empty can of paint lying there and hit me in my face... I lost part of my lower lip.

Re: Poster's Pictures
It was just a tip, I don't have pics of it since it grew again, although I looked like Louis Armstrong for a while ... I do have pics when a bus run over me where I almost lost a leg, if you're interested
Of course, I've to find them first among all the boxes and scan them.

Re: Poster's Pictures
Well, let me see... just a few, if we count when I lost the steering wheel of my bike while driving and landed with my face on the asphalt, the bus crash I mentioned when I was 13 yrs. old (also with my bike), or when I tried to make a jump with the bike and landed, again, with my face, this time on the dirt (silly me, trying to be a BMX star :P ), the paint can incident. Also I've played football, rugby, basketball and some other sports so I've my account of injuries, but I was lucky and never broke a single major bone. I do broke twice my pinky toe, once I hit a door barefoot and the 2nd playing football someone kicked my foot instead of the ball.
So, not so many...

Re: Poster's Pictures
I've never had a broken bone. I have however, had 8 different major burns (all from different things... damn waffle irons ) and had more than 15 different cuts requiring 5 or more stitches. I'm amazed I don't have more scars...

you people should take me as an example: I don't do jack diddly squat, thus I don't get into accidents.

However, before I turned into a lazy slob I did break a bone doing something reckless. I got hit by a train.
Please don't ask me to tell the whole story, it's way less cool that way.

Well, when I was 6 I got hit with a rock to the head. It was quite a big hole with quite a few stitches...
People say that this explains a lot regarding my state of mind.
And FigureFour, I'm wasn't going to ask that you tell as the whole story but I can't subdue my curiosity: How the hell did you get yourself hit by a train?!!!

I was hit by the INSIDE of a train. I was inside the train climbing on the seats when it happened. The train started moving and I went flying.

Re: Poster's Pictures
. That's almost as good as my waffle iron incident (alluded to above). I went to take the waffles out of the iron- and forgot to use a knife to pry them out. I jerked my hand up, hit the top part, which promptly came down so my hand was sandwiched between the two. I had the stupid burn marks on my hand for 4 months. Hurt like hell too.

Re: Poster's Pictures
Some pictures from the our field hockey game where we had the parents play the kids. I played on the parents' team for a while and then played with the kids at the end of the game.
Before the game, the kids were doing some handstands and insisted I join in.
I was trying to show the kids how to jump and tap your heels together twice before landing. Apparently, I was the only one who could jump high enough.
Here is one of me playing. I believe I was trying to reach for a ball which is just outside the picture.
The parents ended up winning the game 3-0. I scored the first goal, and then was made to go play defense for the rest of the game.

Well, it's a step up from the red x's he had before.
Maybe you should just give us the password so we can see the pics.

Fixed. Sorry about that, I thought it would work. I was being lazy and didn't want to upload them to my photobucket account.

Wow, playing on old fashioned grass! Its been a while since I did that... Don't think I ever did acrobatics on the field though.
I haven't been able to play hockey for a number of weeks now. I broke my hand while escorting my opponent into our goalie, who body checked us both. I broke my Metacarpal no. 3 and the striker scored the 2-1 2 mins later giving them the win...

Yeah, we're just a middle school, so we don't get a nice field. We can't even get the school district to water the field for us. The high school has a nice turf field, and sometimes we get to practice on it, but thats about it.
