The prayer was not heard after all
and the penitence no longer means anything
Must the longing, compassion,
and even the love for each other be shattered into pieces,
as if it were a fragile and sad song that the elves sing?

Re: Where are you from? Where do you live?
Ah, so you've gone from Tur-Blood country to Twilight country? Are you loving or loathing the everpresent "cool rainforest"-type climate? Personally, I think places like Forks and it's sourrounds would drive me nuts, the only national park I'd have any interst in is Goat Rocks - and only then because I'm a bit of an amateur geologist.Sjaunja wrote:Born n' raised in New Orleans Lousiana,

Re: Where are you from? Where do you live?
Well arch, to be honest, it's kind of a refreshing change from the 'sweat so hard you don't need to water the grass' climate.
But it's got ups and downs, strikes and gutters. The summers here are beautiful, especially if you can make it out to the San Juan Islands (which, incidentally, are quite fascinating geologically as an example of glacial landscapes.) Personally, I take my every opportunity to go out east to the desert which has all those beautifully water-carved canyons.
Also- the national parks are pretty fantastic if you've got the stamina to explore them all. Mount Rainier in particular is quite awe inspiring. I've only been able to make it to the top once, about four years ago, but short of Everest (a terrible pun, I'm aware) it's the best view you can get.
Until you pointed it out, I was unaware that I quite suspiciously followed the path of popular vampire tv series. Honest to god that's not the reason . I will say though, for the record, that Seattle and the surrounding area isn't much like forks. In fact, twilight forks isn't much like forks. And you're right, it can get a little maddening at times, but luckily I still have family in New Orleans for those annoyingly cold yet snow-devoid winters.

Re: Where are you from? Where do you live?
Q. Is it more correct to call it Tacoma or SeaTac?LordTobiothan wrote:Born and raised in Tacoma Washington
Also, do you read much? If so, then besides Twilight I have another reccommendation for people of the Olympia/Seattle/Tacoma areas, the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead. It begins with Succubus Blues. Be warned though people, this series isn't for the little ones....

Re: Where are you from? Where do you live?
O.K, I know Twilight is kinda sappy, but what's wrong with the Georgina Kincaid books - lethal, immortal villians, demons who're "goodies" and a succbus heroine who can't stop getting into scrapes!! What's not to love?!LordTobiothan wrote:Tacoma is what you call it if you live here but most dont know where that is so the call it sea-tac.Noble Korhedron wrote:Q. Born in St. Petersberg Russia (not going to argue names here, it was Leningrad when I was born)
Grew up in Kibutz Malkia, Israel, near the north border.
Now living in Aurora, Ontario, Canada for home and Waterloo, Ontario, Canada for school.
Very few Canadians on here and I was really interested in finding people from the Toronto area and get some games in. Not much fantasy up here in the cold north.

Re: Where are you from? Where do you live?
Lies. Not much Fantasy in Aurora (Nor where I live, in Stouffville), but I know when I went to University of Guelph, there were plenty of Fantasy players, and I'm sure Waterloo has even more. I know a couple in Toronto too, just mostly friends.powerclaw wrote:Born in St. Petersberg Russia (not going to argue names here, it was Leningrad when I was born)
