Re: Confirmed Rumors
Just saw the pictures via BoLS.
Wood Elf spears have AP apparently. Also looks like pics of rank & file spear wielding elves, definitely plastic models, possibly new Eternal Guard?

Re: Confirmed Rumors
Yep AP seems to be the buff EG are getting. Kinda dislike, as we could get that from a banner and it seems they have lost their additional attack.
Looks like new cav models in the background. Undecided as to whether they are glade riders or wild riders, but my beat is on the later

unless they simplified the rules by giving the 2A on profile and spear instead of a whole special ruleDrstrangelove wrote:Yep AP seems to be the buff EG are getting. Kinda dislike, as we could get that from a banner and it seems they have lost their additional attack.
Re: Confirmed Rumors
Might be worth mentioning that the ward save change for forest spirits seems to be to 6+ rather than the hoped for 5+ standard ward.
But the expected ASF seems to be present for elves.

Re: Confirmed Rumors
Noticed that change as well. Hopefully Forest Spirits get something to make up for it (like Hatred), as they (except Dryads) were already all over-priced as it was.GladeLars wrote:Might be worth mentioning that the ward save change for forest spirits seems to be to 6+ rather than the hoped for 5+ standard ward.

Well, my ideas for the next book turned out to be a bust.
But it was still fun working on something of this scale.

Re: Confirmed Rumors
I think the route GW has gone has been to streamline rules. The older AB was like reading a legal document compared to the newer ABs.
Hopes: EG become core, get 2A, have a nature AP with their spears and their special fighting style retains the 5+ AS and perhaps extra ranks (combined with spears, so sort of mimicking High Elves?)

Re: Confirmed Rumors
Don't know if this is already posted. In that case I apologies for double post about the same info.
Anyways,
It seems like wood elves got access to all brb lores and also dark and high magic.
Thoughts about that?

Re: Confirmed Rumors
Wow, I'm genuinely surprised by that.
Speculation on why no more Lore of Athel Loren?
1) Life & Beasts covered everything Athel Loren did (aside from Tree Singing)?
2) Trying to show the 'neutrality' of the Wood Elves vs. their cousins?
3) Access to 10 spell lores?!

Re: Confirmed Rumors
Let's keep the rumor discussion on the rumor thread. This is more for giving the highlights to people.
Re: Confirmed Rumors
Thank you for this thread! Really helpful with the mass of posts that are sent right now!
Maybe including the neatest pictures would be a good idea?

Thanks a bunch again.
Re: Confirmed Rumors
There is a new Wood Elf special character named Cythral who has two axes.
Discussion and picture: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthrea ... -II/page25
EDIT: Not sure if that is really a special character, or a new rank and file model. The person with the White Dwarf confirmed that "Cythral" is actually a reference to a region in the north of Athel Loren. It's definitely a new model, just not sure what it is.

Re: Confirmed Rumors
Also, stag riders confirmed (although I think that was a given after the artwork we saw).

Re: Confirmed Rumors
That's not the name of the character, that's the name of the area those models and banner come from. Probably a regular new character model then.greenman wrote:There is a new Wood Elf special character named Cythral who has two axes.

Re: Confirmed Rumors
Also seems confirmed that the stag riders are normal cavalry not monstrous, as they are on 25x50mm bases.

Re: Confirmed Rumors
I think some of these are still speculative. The appearance of two pages from the army book remains suspect to me.
Re: Confirmed Rumors
The stag being normal cav is from the white dwarf leak, from this better quality picture in the link, not the army book. But I totally support keeping this thread to the confirmed things, so feel free to delete the posts, if you don't think it belongs.

Re: Confirmed Rumors
I think we can confirm there are stag riders of some sort, based on the army book art that was spoiled by Daarkon and this image that you're mentioning.
I will also post that Dryads appear to be ranked troops rather than skirmishers.
