I'm being optimistic and going with May 3, as that would be a perfect birthday surprise for me. :P

Going for "Mary" the 31st because I'm just weird that way. (If it sticks out, I gotta jump on it.)
(Edit: Ok, so you fixed the spelling. It's STILL in black.)

So it's no longer the BRB, now it's the DERB. (Digital Edition Rule Book) I am all in for 9th Age.

I'm gonna go for a conservative guess of May 17th, but I'm worried that it might be the last option

I'm assuming the 10th, because what they seem to be doing is first week are some kits and then the second week you get the book and some more stuff.
So Stuff on the 3rd, Book on the 10th.

Necrons Since '04
Tomb Kings Since '08
Wood Elves since '12

Re: Who wants to start betting on the release date?
This, I am convinced that if 'May' is the wood elf month then it will not be the third, if the release follows the dwarf pattern we will get at least one plastic kit on sale a week before the book (grumbles about dirty sales tactics).themidget428 wrote:I'm assuming the 10th, because what they seem to be doing is first week are some kits and then the second week you get the book and some more stuff.

On the other hand, from what we know about the Astra Militarum release, the book and tank will come out this Saturday (the storm troopers and trukk having been released last sat), which leaves the ogryns and any characters for release on the 19th.
There is currently nothing known beyond that (more guard models seems unlikely because I think we would have wind of them by now), which means the 26th April is the first possible window for wood elves, which could be followed by a book on the third.
Having said that there are vague rumours of a chaos Marine wave with chosen and havocs floating around as well, so that could delay WE until may proper.
Or, it could just be the last option, none of the current rumours exactly qualify as solid data :,(

Re: Who wants to start betting on the release date?
I chose the 17th, with Dwarves in mind. Didn't they only get their book half way through the month or something?
I have got a glimmer of hope. I know it's not much, but I went into a GW yesterday to get a pot of paint and was talking to the sales dude. Obviously he tried to see if he could sell me something and I told him I was a Wood Elf player and wanted to wait for the new release before spending out on anything else etc.
He smiled and said "I doubt you'll be waiting long". I thought that was a lot coming from a GW staff member, they have been notoriously good at stone walling any questions or rumour speculations.
(I'll copy this paragraph and put it in the rumours post too)

Long live the King in the Woods!!!
Who wants to start betting on the release date?
Guard is April 12th yet Stormtroopers were April 5th?
Geeze 5 Saturdays in May (not complaining) hmmmm. Can I bet against the 17th? :P
I'll go with 3rd based on all the craziness going around (website redesign, new release schedule, etc). Failing that the 10th is my backup :P

Re: Who wants to start betting on the release date?
It's gotta be the first week of may! It's been like 2 and a half months of 40k releases, with a smattering of hobbit. Where's the fantasy?!!
Do I like Warhammer? Are you kidding, I've got wood!....elves...
Re: Who wants to start betting on the release date?
Darnok (on Warseer) just quoted May 3. I read his record on Dakka and he is fairly high in accuracy. It surprised me as I just thought he was a mod.
Re: Who wants to start betting on the release date?
According to some people who work at Gamesworkshop, the executive brass view Fantasy as the "lesser game", whereas 40k is where they make all their money. Hence the multitude of 40k releases recently (even though they're not selling particulatly well.)Luminith wrote:It's gotta be the first week of may!
