Yes, the only change to the spirit sword really needs to be that the bearer doesn't take wounds from it. The way insp presence works in 8E paying points for a weapon that will damage you 50% of the time in most situations is not in any way sensible.Shandrakor wrote: Right, but Spirit Leech doesn't have any chance of wounding the caster, only the enemy.

You know what, I recently used the Dawnspear on a Wild Rider Kindred Noble in a squad of 10 WR. I LOVED IT!
...so I really hope that they keep that!

Could be nice if magic arrows were upgrades for waywatchers units.
If that was the case, I can see these itemes kept, each one with little tweeks though:
1. Spirit Sword (no drawback)
2. Bow of Loren (higher strenght/model strenght)
3. Oaken Armour (maybe scally skin + regen)
4. Stone of Rebirth with unambiguous rulings
5. Wand of Wych Elm unchanged
The major tweek will be on a banner. Peobably the royal banner of Ariel

That would be awesome, Waywatchers would kind of become the fantasy version of sternguard space marines with their special issue ammo...NonnoSte wrote:Could be nice if magic arrows were upgrades for waywatchers units.
For what its worth I don't see the bow of Loren using user strength as well as user attacks, as if comboing that item with the savage beast of Horros wasn't abusive enough already.

OK, none of us got it right!
Well it was a fun exercise. Most of us got 3 or 4 correct though. I think it's strange that they got rid of the Wand of the Wych Elm ... it's been around for ever.

Oh, I would pay 55 pts for it still. With a +1 to cast while in woods and reason to take a hero caster? Great item
