Re: Want 2500 points against Thorek Dwarfs
Ah, and one more "legal" strategy. You can declare charge against any LoS enemy, even if you are definitelly not in the range... That's actually NOT legal (anymore). It's been FAQ'd, and it's illegal to declare a charge that obviously will fail. I'll see if I can find a linky. http://uk.g...

Re: Want 2500 points against Thorek Dwarfs
Dont forgot "free transform" rule. If you use this rule to its maximal potential, you can be cheesy as hell. Because of the free transform rules, you can legaly "transform" your unit into the line behind ANY of your riders, and then transform it back into charge line... And you c...

Re: Want 2500 points against Thorek Dwarfs
PGP. Since the base of a Wild Rider is about 1 inch wide, and you cannot approach a unit closer than 1 inch unless charging that unit, you cannot charge through a gap nearly 3 inches wide. Allso, there are no 'conga lines' in 7th ed, even for fast cavalry. AFAIK you can apporach them, you just cann...

Re: Want 2500 points against Thorek Dwarfs
I know that many of you have good hearts and your suggestions are intended to be helpful, but I wonder if you have ever faced Thorek played by a good player? My opponent is NOT an idiot. He knows what I can do almost as well as I do. You cannot get in contact with the Anvil because it has a line/bl...

Re: Tried this, pretty good results
In your country, you can use unique characters in your battles, right? Maybe Ariel can work against this? Fog of Death "target" all your units, so you can use her lvl 2 Magic Resistance. Togather with some decent dispell equip, you can prevent emisars from work - and you can make them usel...

Re: Want 2500 points against Thorek Dwarfs
For those of you that hav never faced Thorek, he can reliably kill 500 - 800 points of army in a single six turn game and with no range or LoS limits, you cannot hide. ur MSU army is especially vulnerable. When combined with our comparatively expensive models, this makes things worse. A single atta...

Re: Tried this, pretty good results
Lol, just go throught DoW rules on US GW site and find this list: http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/gaming/dogsofwar/assets/dogs_of_war.pdf According to this, Dwarfs can take Emissary as rare+hero choice; while WE can take him as... Only Rare choice..??? Let's go for him, it's an official...

Re: Tried this, pretty good results
Truthsayers and Dark Emmissaries are now DoW units, and you can only have one of each DoW unit in any given army. Eg, you can't have two units of Mengil's Manhide Manflayers in an army. I was unable to find a direct statement confirming this, but the repeated references to '...unique characters...'...

Re: Want 2500 points against Thorek Dwarfs
Dunno how rules you use for usage of Dark Emissaries / truthsyers, but that I know (from Dark Shadow campaign) are that 1) both players must agree to use Dark Emissaries / Truthsyers 2) you can use maximally one Dark Emissari / Truthsyer in a battle 3) if one player deploy Dark Emissar, othere must ...

Can I rotate a wood with singing?
It is comon that you can move woods on the table with treesinging. But is it possible to rotate them too?
And if yes, is it possible to combine movement + rotation and then, how will be the movement distance calculated?
Thanx

Is it possible to rotate the wood with treesinging? This is actually something I've also wondered about for a long time, but decided for myself that I can't. Was going to start a thread asking about it, but I'm more than happy for Unicorn to threadjack his own thread and get an answer! :D I will ma...

Re: 1999 Wood Elf army
TK without a lord have a MUCH weaker magic phase. 5d6 casting total and their general can only affect his own unit. Plus no Undying skeletons (not that Undying TG are squishy). If you truly want mass treesinging, you'll need the second spellsinger. I'm not convinced mass treesinging will be that ef...

Re: Defying convention
Here around it is usual to hide your characters inside of large units to protect them (or minimally put them at some strong mount); it is nearly impossible to see any wizard or hero to act just by himself - ppl are too much scared of shooting/casting which can take down their precious hero quickly. ...

Re: 1999 Wood Elf army
Looks better, with all the Wild Riders and Dryads you have, you shouldn't ever be stranding the Treeman on his own so often that you'll need the BSB. OK, that sounds good. Drop the HoDA Singer and get a Standard Alter (Noble, Alter Kindred, HotH, HoDA, LA, Sh, GW). Hmm, that will mean 2 PD and 1 DD...

Re: Want 2500 points against Thorek Dwarfs
I think about how hard it will be to shoot this anvil down with GGs... Statistically: At long range, 1/2 of your arrows will hit All hits are proportionally divide between all models (2x guard, Kragi, Thorek) guards: 1/3 hits go through T, then 1/3 through AS, they have 1W Kragi: 1/3 hits go through...

Re: 1999 Wood Elf army
Thanx for all advices. And I dunno how I come with idea to use 4 characters for game under 2k  I consider to take BSB to cover Treeman's stubbron Ld8 for case I will fail to support him enough in combat and so he will loose. Plus HoDA, which I love absolutelly :D That's all my plans for him. ...

1999 Wood Elf army
I am prepearing some universal army list for some friendly competition for next week, and I wish to test Treeman during it, because I never use him before. My opponents are much more skilled that I am and they will play to win, but not at all cost :ninja: . What do you think about following list? 1 ...

Rare choice..?
Since there is just a Core unit artcile on LEAF and I cannot find anything about this here around, I will ask this way.
What are Asrai rare choices good for? How to use them with efficiency, for what purposes and in what kind of armies? What are they weaknesses and their strong points?
Thanx

Re: Help needed to get the berst out of my glade guard
Can I ask - why should I take 10GG for 120pts instead of 5GR for 120pts? I know I am missing something, but: GR are better in fight (no rank bonuses, but they are faster, have horses + spear), and with shooting they don't have GG longbow, but can move much better while still shooting (18" inste...
