Re: Tree Singing

A hedge is a linear obstacle. Woods, and similar, are area terrain features. I would not try to treesing a hedge without disussing it with my opponent. This could become quite abusive if the hedge were modelled in an interesting shape or made from level 3 trees be cause the sinze and shape requireme...

Don't apologize to Chaos, I am certain I was conned and the person who suggested the game anticipated the 'misunderstanding'. Him and his sons vs me and my two students.

Re: Ice Age for Britain

One scenario has the Gulf Stream and the Atlantic Conveyor failing, so warm water does not move toward Western Europe and the Eastern USA and cold water does not move away, cooling those areas resulting in significant average cooling for a century or so, even as the average for the world increases. ...

Re: How's this for a tournament idea.

From my experience, what works 'best', and in order. 1. Swiss pairing on all rounds with the tie-breaker being 'composition' This means that the two most extreme armies, and the two least extreme armies play in the first round. In the second round, the two most extreme armies with one loss play, as ...

Forests, copses, orchards, shrubbery, tall forests, wooded hills and other wooded terrain not actually called woods.

Essentially all terrain consisting mostly of trees; large or small.

Re: charging skirmishers

The free ability to wheel on the charge toward the closes visible skirmisher is what allows monsters and such to perform the 'dreaded' J charge. (moving past the model to charge from the rear to force the skirmishers to form up for a second lethal charge, or to control expected over-run. Note to sel...

Re: Wisdom appeal!!

No, it was more an example of misunderstandings that can occur if both sides don't have the SAME clear idea of the rules of team games. My opponents fielded 1000 points each of Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and since their entire army came from the same book, felt they were free to follow standard rules....

How are impact hits distributed?

Like close combat?
Like shooting?

The previous system was a single pool for each side and, in this case, the 'big spells' got nasty.

Re: Laeldon Twigheart and the Old Forest (500 pts Warbands)

I have never played Warbands, but I cannot see any reason to have the Dryads in 1 x 6 when you could have them in 2 x 3.

The down-side to the Eagle is that it burns up one of your two non-core slots. I think I'd rather have three more Wardancers, giving you 2 x 5.

Well done in returning the undead to death.

Treemen are only monsters, so only an Ancient can issue a challenge. You opponent was using a fairly soft and friendly list.

OK. I missed the elevation. At 1000m, I can see how that might happen. Here in the US we have the Continental climate and the jet stream to cool things down.

Spend the last few points on a GG musician. Won't help much, but won't hurt either.

Well done. Dwarfs are the least forgiving army when it comes to deployment errors. Deployment is the most important phase for them.

What proportion og kills did you get from shooting compared to close combat?

Re: New Beastman rumors

We will need to see the final wording before we know how much it will impact Treesinging spam. This will affect us less than many other armies since we rarely use all-out Magic. It may be another reason to take a Highborn if we can use their Leadership though.

Even Malmo is 55 degrees North, what do you expect. I'm 33 degrees North!

How often does is snow down at the coast on Mallorca? With the warmth of the sea, I would have though that never happens.

Re: 1000 point tournament list

I don't like that much magic in 1000 points of WE, but if you are going for magic, then plenty is better than a little. For comparison, my 1000 points is: Noble with spear, la, shield, HoDA on Great Eagle 2 x 12 GG 2 x 5 GR, mus 2 x 3 WHR GE. 40 mobile bowshots a turn whittle the enemy away quite fa...

Re: First 1000pt Army - With Treeman

Wardancers are skirmishers, they cannot be joined by a mounted character.

I'd concentrate more on close combat support for the Treeman (which I think is too expensive for 1000 points) so would take out the GG mus, put one in one unit of GR and change the other unit of GR into WD.
