While I agree that there is no absolute Best or absolute Worst, there are Better and Worse armies. I don't agree that the latest armies are the best. An older list, like Thorek-based Dwarfs is VERY tough to beat with any of the armies I use, and the Lothern Sea Guard army has massacred me every time...

I don't know what happenend to the first post. I disagree with you Minsc. Best player wins with all things being equal, but with generally equal players, as in GT final rounds, the army becomes much more important. Some armies require more work to win with and against a roughly equal general, you ar...

If you want speed, leadership, and effectiveness, then Druchii is the answer, but you already have a hard-to-play fragile elf army. Dwarfs, with the Old Grumblers rule, have high and effective leadership, but no movement worth mentioning. Lizardmen, with the Cold-Blooded rule, also can have good lea...

In their own way Brettonians, Tomb Kings, Lizardmen, Dwarfs, and Chaos are powerful, tough, and effective. Empire can be configured that way too. All armies can be configured as Powerful and Effective. By tough, I assume that you mean forgiving of mistakes like Space Marines in 40K, as opposite to f...

Hope your opponent doesn't have Thorek. Almost al the Dawi armies I have seen recently have been using Thorek, and quite effectively too. not only can he kill you, he can give Dawi surprising mobility too, with the extra move. Since I'm building an all-tree army, I look forward to reading the replies.

Well, you guys have convinced me. I bought a box of Dryads and a Branchwraith today. And so it goes.... It there a Tactica somewhere that discusses the optimum size of Asrai units? A battalion box would give me 24 archers and 8 cavalry, as well as the Dryads. Alter noble gw, la, HotH, HoDA 156 Spell...

Our characters do get Asrai Archery and Forest Walkers. Both of those can be worth quite a bit, especially when combined with our units and Magic Items. Our base weapon is a Longbow too. The main negative is that we have to pay for abilities that are situational. Fighting in Athel Loren, our special...

I take no offense whatsoever. I've been colourblind my whole life and have made adjustments. I understand colour theory and I read the labels on the paint pots and know what I'll get when I mix colours. I also use lots of black, white and grey. That's one of the reasons I'm thinking of Ghostwood tre...

I don't know what I did to get up your nose, but I consider it civilised behaviour to respond to reasonable requests with courtesy at least. I am deuteranope with tritanomaly. Appoximately 1 in 6 males who look at this site will have some kind of colour vision defect, from protanomaly up to full tri...

Most armies, (except Orks), can be good. I like the Daemonhunter and Witchhunter fluff and a Sister based Witchhunter army can be both effective and fun and can then be morphed to Daemonhunter, Inquisitor Warband, Imperial Guard, or even, God forbid, Space Marines. It all depends on the allies you t...
