Re: Beastmen are no longer our rivals

My point was for WE to come out in 2010, Beastmen, and two other books TK and OK, or Brett or even Dawi, would need to be released first, making us fourth (at least). In many ways, later might be better so that we get an early 8th and not a late 7th, especially if there are significant changes in th...

Re: help me beat the vamps please

Although the individual units you mention are powerful, putting them all in one army, makes for a fairly small undead force at 2000 points. His actual troops are comparatively low in number and either he must have few large units, or risk having complete units destroyed by our shooting. The smaller ...

Re: Beastmen are no longer our rivals

I think it very unlikely that we will be out this year. That would make us 4th army this year, and I don't think that is likely.

Re: Orcs and Goblins brutal magic.

Magic Mushrooms are Shiny Stuff, which makes them magic items. Page 120 of the BRB says that only one character can carry any given magic item (only one HoDA) in an army, so only one character can carry Magic Mushrooms. The entry for MM in the army book says that A (singular) shaman may carry multip...

Re: Neverwinter Nights

I'm playing an RPG for R as much as anything else and I don't know enough to powergame. It took me about an hour of running around and regenerating and making hit and run attacks to get the two dragons and it was lucky that I had four heal potions. I have cracked the puzzle in HotU. I bought some ge...

Re: Are shrike attacks magical?

There is the FaQ which statest that Spites generally use their own profile and do not gain the benefits and special rules of their host, like KB if on a Wardancer. That would suggest that they gain no benefit from Forest Spirit either.

Re: TVF tries to balance fantasy.

I like 'Mainstay'.

x Mainstay gives y Specials
p Specials gives q Rares

Unused rares can be traded for more specials.

x, y, p, and q could be different for various armies.

Re: High Elf Help Needed

The weakness is not the DragonMage per se, but the DragonMage in a 1500 point army of elite units; like a Treeman in 1000 points, it becomes the be-all end-all of the list. If it loses, or you lose it, you lose the game. With our mobility AND liking for terrain, it will be difficult to keep the Drag...

Re: Follow Along as I strive for Glory in my League...

League rules are tough for WE. I think you are spending too much on characters, but you are running out of things to spend points on!

Will a TMA still use up your rare?

Re: Are shrike attacks magical?

Shrikes are not magical items, but they may be magical.

Since other Spites have the magical nature specifically stated, and Shrikes does not, I would argue that it is not magical, even if on a character whose attacks are normally magical.

Re: TVF tries to balance fantasy.

I agree with Empire and HE as standard. Because of the weird WE play style, I would not include them in the balancing mix, possibly using Dwarfs or Bretonnians instead. I would then start 'improving' the weaker armies before weakinging the stronger ones. I like the idea of re-balancing the Empire in...

Re: Restarting the Mordheim BPiF Campaign.

As TGA says, in this warband, it will not matter. Consider the consequences of single henchman groups in your 'real' warband.

Re: Neverwinter Nights

I have just completed the original campaign, starting with a Neutral Good Elven Druid/Shifter (Alter Noble!). I 'cheated' in the Snow Globe by spending 3 days slaughtering stunties, and gaining 7 levels, maxing out at 20, using shifter shapes. From then on, the campaign was quite easy, except for th...

Re: How many Glade Guard is too many?

Tell him about the player (me) who crushed a Dwarf army, with old Thorek, using one unit of 82 GG, and little else. There were special circumstances. All GG armies are not cheesy at any point level, although TerrainHammer may make them so, such as a convenient section of castle wall for them stand o...

Re: TVF tries to balance fantasy.

This is a very worthy idea. I'm moving it to the Weald of Evolution where I think it belongs. I think the 'easiest' way to do this is to select a pair of armys that you think are at about the right level, make whatever minor changes you think are necessary, especially for internal balancing, then ba...

Re: Used up two of my fifteen minutes.

The style does not change, but the 'in-jokes', innuendo, and examples do change, as does the language and complexity. It has worked well from undergraduate level down. It does depend on the audience. Things are lively, but very different for, say, learning assistance classes. I keep things 'intense'...

Re: Restarting the Mordheim BPiF Campaign.

When you come to build your own first warband, maximize heros, and minimize equipment on Grunts. The 400 point warband is well-equipped, but too small. (or play the human warband that starts with 600gc ) I have sent a PM to your opponent Draketh Firewind and when he responds we can get started. The ...
