Re: AMA is Reborn

Thanks for the knid words. I feel like dog doo-doo and my bed time is about 8:00 PM if I wish to survive the next day, but it's better than before. I don't anticipate playing any (many) 8th ed games this summer, so I'm worried that I'll get totally irrelevant to the board. Hope my 1000 point Sethayl...

Re: AMA is Reborn

It will take me about a month (or more) to catch up on the ZILLION new posts since late February. :( I've been catching up on 8th rumours. Scenarios will mean we lose our free wood unless pitched battles and I'm not sure how TK and VC will function at low point levels with a 25% point limit on Chara...

Re: AMA is Reborn

Yes. I have not been checkin my e-mail in case there was something there I just had to respond to and I would have felt guilty for not doing so. Better not to know. What's the next new army book? I'll catch up on the modeling things and I feel very bad about not being able to hold up 'my end'. Unfor...

AMA is Reborn

The combination of a bad cold and a terrible pollen season here in Atlanta (120 per cc is extreme, the high was 5780!) laid me low for the last couple of months. Almost the only relief I could get was lying flat on my back for 12 hrs a day to let the fluid and pressure drain from inside my head. Wit...

Re: How many Glade Guard is too many?

I want to STRESS what Tethlis has said. Buildings are phenomenal terrain for Wood Elves, even against the modern nasty armies. Flying cavalry, monsters, chariots, and cavalry cannot even attack and infantry flyers must use ground movement. Read the LEAF article.

Kyure The references to Dwarfs WHFB/LotR ended up on the cutting room floor. Joelatron. I have been living mostly in the USA since '83 and my accent has not changed much, to everyone's surprise. Funny thing is, most Kiwis think I'm from the UK. The accent is part of what works. Americans have a lot ...

I have my major 'mid-year' progress reports done, at last. This year I have to do 'comments' a small essay and evaluation, for my students. It takes a long time.

Looks like most of you are ready to continue, but I'm still waiting for Draketh Firewind. I suppose I could just skip this encounter on to the 7th round.

What's wit the way maps come up now. I cannot see what people are doing.

Re: How's this for a tournament idea.

I suppose that it depends on the size of the tournament, but if you don't match hard vs hard from the beginning two things happen, both of them bad. Newbies with weaker armies get torn to pieces in the first round and start to not enjoy what happens thereafter. In the final round,a third or lower ra...

Tethlis, I know YOU know and it was just a typo. The trouble with the net is that our mistakes never die and can come back to haunt us, like the undead.

Re: Using max slots on one unit

Sethayla more often use Glade Riders for core although I mix GG and GR.

Using all the slots for only one choice greatly 'speacializes' the army, giving some benefits, but usually introducing huge weaknesses too. WR, WD, and Tk are all ItP and WhR cannot go into woods, practically.

Rather then link to the 2005 topic : Naieth the Prophetess Naieth the prophetess is skilled in the arcane art of divination. Only a select band of mages knows this secret Lore. By means of divining rods cut from magical trees they are able to "feel" the flow of magic deep within the ground...

Well, I am a fairly old person and a lot of my little remaining hair is gray. :D However, I taught this way at Uni in the 70's. The keys for me are great enthusiasm and complete mastery of the material, combined with the chops to be safe saying I don't know something, so let's look it up. Thanks for...

Re: TVF tries to balance fantasy.

Developing a complete set of rules is a huge job and takes many years. I have done it three times, plus a couple of major 'upgrade' modules. I don't think that this is a practical forum for such a project. I would rather concentrate on getting GW to 'fix' some things.
